"The [Member Name Removed]'s hired us as a sub-contractor, they were acting as G.C. We did our work and passed inspections as we went along, our contract included masonry, footings, back fill of foundation, some light carpentry, insulation, drywall and framing and some deck work. We did our masonry end without a hitch as well as most of the framing in our contract. We did extra work for free such as installing a faux stone veneer to the front of the residence and CMU block columns as well as repaired his roof which was leaking profusely ( About a $6000.00 value in total). What got in the way of completing other tasks was his plumbing subcontractor, HVAC subcontractor, siding subcontractor, electrical etc.which had nothing to do with our contract at all. We were supposed to be done our contract on June 9 2015, their plumbing inspection didn't happen until end of may, once that happened we could get rough building inspection and then that allowed us to have our insulation contractor come in and do his job. He completed it on June 4th and we scheduled the insulation inspection and got it for June 6th. He was the G.C. I advised him that he had to have the house open for the inspection and meet the inspector, he was responsible for all inspections, i used my clout with the town to get the inspection quickly so that we could finish and have them move in, on the 6th, I dropped by to insure the inspection happened and saw a red sticker that said no access.. I called Mr. [Member Name Removed] to advise and he said he rescheduled but he still insisted that we finish our job by the 9th which could not happen because the inspection needed to be done, he wouldn't take no for an answer. On that Friday, a police officer was at the door of my house at 9:30 pm advising me that I had to get my trailer and equipment off Mr. [Member Name Removed] property by end of day Saturday, we went there Saturday morning to see that my scaffolding as thrown against my trailer damaging the signs on the trailer and my equipment was thrown haphazardly on the front lawn. The [Member Name Removed] turned out to be scam artists, they actually used the original contract we signed to get more funds from FEMA, i found this out later. (We had an original contract which was about 20 thousand more but then he took out some of the work we were supposed to do which changed the contract to a new contract for less). They scammed my company out of about $18,000.00 by firing us when we were 90% done so they could keep our money and they hired undocumented day laborers to complete the tasks, they are not honorable people."
"We are pleased that we were able to help Mr. [Member Name Removed] especially because of his situation logistically to the property. We are provide services to many homeowners who's second home is on the Jersey Shore, having us manage the property takes the worry out of home ownership and enables the home owner to have a better sense of control over their property even though they are hundreds of miles away."
