Gas Furnace / Forced Air Heating System - Repair
New heating and AC system installed by the company in December 2023. System Failure: AC unit stopped working in July 2025, less than two years after installation. After-hours visit requested. Charged $135 for the visit and $55 for refrigerant check ($190 total). Technician found system completely out of refrigerant. Quoted $2,419.81 for repairs. I was shown itemized list on iPad, but not provided a copy upon request. The technician pointed out a shiny spot on the compressor suggesting a leak. I noticed a twisted copper line leading into the compressor. Technician stated he had never seen anything like it. Office could not explain how the copper line was bent?despite no one but their installers accessing the unit. I declined the repair for lack of itemized quote and cost transparency. Suspected installation issue (twisted copper line). No confirmation that repairs would be covered under warranty.

The price was a little high. They showed up, they were on time, and they did the job they said they were going to do. I can't really compare their price to anybody else. It took maybe 3 hours. They cleaned up after themselves, I wouldn't of ate of the floor after they left but.

Awful! Was charged about $250 for the thermostat - didn't know that until the bill came! Could have bought the same one at Home Depot for around $100. The guy installing the new GAS water heater smoked the entire time. He even left ashes on top of the new unit. I have attached pictures for anyone who would like to see them.

Nothing stood out. It was an emergency repair during the winter time and they were pretty punctual in terms of coming out. They couldn't finish it in the first day and they came out bright and early the next day to finish up.

They come once a year to do annual maintenance on our furnace. They always call before hand and come on time. The office people always seem very nice. The techs are professional. We had a problem once with a bad sensor and we didn't have to pay anything because it was covered in our service plan.

Installed two new Kohler Toilets, replacing the original construction grade crap sterling toilets(I know, Kohler also manufacture Sterling toilets) that came with the house. One of the toilets had a faulty chrome flapper which they took care of immediately. Very professional company. This company is on the pricey side but I feel better having a company that has been at this for decades working on my house.

Our furnace failed to come on that morning, so I contacted Jenkins as they had just completed an annual check-up on our system 10 days earlier. The tech arrived, spent 15 minutes trouble-shooting and in the process fired it up by moving the damper from automatic to manual. The tech moved the damper back to automatic and continued researching the issue. Having no luck, he called Buderas directly and they walked him through checking the control board. A half hour later they, decided the control board was faulty. He wrote up an estimate of $468 ($85 for showing up, $49 for picking up the part, and $334 for the part and install). I asked the cost of the part which the tech would not provide as he did not know so I googled it and found it to be $129, which made the total of $468 seem excessive. I told him to write up a bill as I would replace it myself. He said ok, but continued trouble-shooting. This time, he returned to the damper and started to mess with it. Again, the furnace fired up and he said the issue was my damper and not the control board and that it would work fine if I left the damper in manual. I asked if he'd replaced the control board would it have been fixed, he stated no. So essentially, I would have paid $468 to replace something that wasn't broken and then an additional $__? to replace the damper. The tech wrote up a final bill of $240 based on trouble shooting. That seemed excessive, so I asked him to lower it, which he did to $200, though that still seems a bit high based on my experience above.
There are portions of the furnace are covered for the next year under the annual check-up, so depending on what fails, I may use them again. That said, once the year is up I will find another provider.

"Sorry for your bad exsperience. We cannot control that the part went bad after you initial service. Electrical problems can be hard to trace in some cases. Once again we regret that you are not happy."

Called them Friday night when our heater suddenly stopped working. They called back Fri night and came out Saturday morning, as they said they would. Jenkins sent a senior technician since Buderus is a complex system. The technician at first thought it was a different part, but that part didn't solve the problem. He then determined it was a different part and he had to go to a store to buy it. This second part did solve the problem He ran all the diagnostics and had eliminated everything else as the possible cause before determining this was the part that needed to be replaced.
We were very appreciative that they came out the next morning after we called and got us back up and running on a Saturday, as it was really cold out. The technician seemed very knowledgable and worked hard to fix the problem. In total he worked on our system for about 3 hours, including the time to buy the part from the supplier. Although it was an expensive repair, it was certainly a lot better than needing a new heater,. Would recommend them and would use them again.

We got a letter saying that we needed to seal some windows that leaked badly before they could do the improvements. We had the windows replaced and wrote them to come do the improvements. They refused saying the state had canceled the program. However, I still saw ads for the program. I called to complain and was dismissed by the company, again saying the state had stopped the program. I truly feel ripped off. I can never recommend Jenkins to anyone.

The repairman called the morning the repair was scheduled to confirm the time he would be there. When he arrived he saw how the copper tubing had been installed originally and explained how his installation would solve any future problem by allowing a much larger loop in the copper so the refrigerator could be moved more easily. I told him to proceed with the copper tubing. He was courteous at all times and did a great job. The large loop of copper allowed much easier movement of the refrigerator and you could easily understand how the original installation caused the problem. I have used this company previously and have always been satisfied with their work.
