Solar Swim

Before I agreed to purchase the system, I asked the company representative (who happens to be the owner) to describe what I could expect should the system experience a problem that requires it to be serviced. I was told that I could certianly expect to get service within a few days. Moreover, the representative gave me his cell phone number so that I can reach him directly rather than calling the office. Everything sounded fine and I went ahead with the purchase. As I mentioned above, overall the system is fine. However, on three occasions the system required service. The first time the cable carrying temperature information to the control panel had to be replaced. The service was performed promptly and well. The following year I detected a small leak from the panels on the roof (water is transported to the roof where it is heated and returned to the pool). When I called the owner's cell phone not only didn't he answer but I was told the mailbox was full and I thus could not leave a message. I called the number repeatedly over the course of two days and received the same message. Obviously, the owner was neither answering his cell nor checking voice mail. I then called the office, described the problem to his assistant (who happens to be his wife) and was told the owner would get back to me shortly. He NEVER returned the call. I then had to locate someone else who could perform the service. At the very, very, least I could have been told not to expect service rather than to be totally ignored. The following year (this year) I noticed another leak, called the office, and again spoke to the owner's wife who informed me that I'd hear from someone regarding service within a week. Unfortunately, my call again was never returned. So we have a situation in which the company is eager to sell it's product but apparently unwilling to provide service for it. My complaint is not that my calls were not returned in a timely fashion but worse, but that they were not returned at all
