We are an international organization, with offices in Canada, England and Ireland. Our Research Laboratories advises us about the latest technological advances in arboriculture and assists our arborists with training updates. The laboratory networks with professionals at universities, government agencies, and allied industry groups. This enables us to provide state-of-the art procedures and techniques to our clients. Our arborists consult with other professionals for common projects and community interests. Our unique position in the green industry helps us further arboriculture as a science and a profession. We have multiple tall oak trees on our property, with two trees with major branches overhanging the roof of our house. One of the trees, a twin oak has one-half of the tree precariously leaning towards the house. As a precautionary measure against possible wind damage to the house, we wanted these trees pruned to eliminate the overhanging branches and address the leaning twin oak tree. Contacting Bartlett Tree Experts resulted in a meeting at our property with their local Arborist Matt. I was impressed with his in-depth general knowledge of trees and the reasoning behind how to properly approach the surgical branch pruning that would not adversely affect the continued growth and life of the trees. While I had a preconception of the tree work that I wanted performed, from listening and considering his recommendations based on his education and experience, we were able to agree on what the most appropriate extent of pruning to be to provide us with peace of mind, while maintaining tree health. Within one week they prepared and sent me their cost quote to perform this work which was fair and reasonable. I did find that I had to repeatedly contact them to schedule a day that I would be home to observe the work, which was done within a two-week period from the original meeting. Under Matt’s supervision, the two workers, using a cherry-picker bucket truck parked in our driveway, were able to perform most of the trimming and pruning work. For limbs out of its reach one worker expertly climbed up into the upper canopy of the black oak tree to surgically remove the remaining branches. Throughout this process, they took great care to lower the large cut branches to the ground avoiding any contact with our cedar shingle roof. They ground mulched and carted away all of the cut branches and used power blowers, to clean up all of the remaining debris from the terrace, walkways and driveway. As agreed, they also installed a new stainless-steel bolt & cable connection linking the two twin oak trees together, thus providing additional reinforcing strength against wind-driven tree swaying and bending. Ultimately, I believe that Bartlett Tree Experts did an excellent tree pruning job for fair price and with my persistent follow-up calls, on a calendar schedule that met my desired time frame. Therefore, I can highly recommend them for this type of work.

They are a little pricey but they are worth it. They make recommendations and are very knowledgeable. They have a newsletter and answer your questions. The work that they do is second to none and I would highly recommend them.

They were prompt with the estimate. It was maybe a week and a half to two weeks later that they came to do the work. What stood out was the recommendation of their manager. They came out to look at the job. Responsiveness was good.

Arborist came to our house and diagnosed problem we were having with a tree. Said there was no cure and not to spend any money for any treatment. I asked about cutting down the dead branches. He gave us a price and the job was completed within a week . Not pushy about selling us services. The men who performed the job were neat and careful.

In 2008, I called them to remove a dead Japanese maple and to grind the stump. They came out to do the tree, and after several weeks I was still waiting to have the stump removed. We had ordered a swing set to put where the tree had been, so the delay in stump removal was also delaying the install of the swing set. FINALLY they sent a crew at 4:30pm on a Friday and when they got to my home, they realized the equipment that they had would not work on a stump as large as ours. Why this info wasn't communicated to them from our salesperson (Doug) boggles my mind. The crew tried to contact the office, but of course everyone was gone for the weekend and they could not perform the work. I ended up hiring another company to remove the stump. Do you think I even got a call from Bartlett to reschedule??
I decided maybe it was a fluke, so I called them again this past June (5 years later). Same salesguy (Doug), same routine. He again spent so much time walking my property, telling me what I needed, telling me the importance of having the work done in a timely manner, etc. I stressed the urgency of the job, as we were getting ready to list our house. One week went by, then two. Finally I called and left a message with the receptionist, asking for Doug to call me back. No response. It is now 2 months later and I've never heard from him. Why would you invest so much time in coming for a site visit and then never produce an estimate?? This company is the worst I've ever dealt with. They had a customer ready to sign on the dotted line and couldn't even get an estimate emailed to me. Unbelievable. A waste of time!

They changed representatives on us making it less smooth than it might have been otherwise. They didn't get the stumps as clsoe to the ground as they should have. We had someone else take down two other trees and they did a much better job.

NEVER CALLED AHEAD AS DIRECTED. NEVER CALLED BACK IN RESPONSE TO PROBLEMS. TECHNICIAN DIDN'T KNOW WHICH VISIT HE WAS THERE FOR AND DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT MY CALLS FOR SERVICE.

We've used them for 10 years or so. They are very knowledgeable and do whatever they can to preserve the health of the trees. They will do pruning of the trees unless they have no other choice. They are kind of expensive but they are worth it. They are generally very responsive. They were swamped after our October snowstorm but tree people were in short supply everywhere. We will definitely use them again.

It was a very good experience. They are specialized in all kind of trees. I've used them before about three years prior to trim some trees. They work very quickly and very expertly. They did a good job. They clean up after themselves all the time. I have no complaints about their work. Their price seemed reasonable considering that they are certified arborists. They are not just a local person who knows how to trim trees and that sort of thing. I don't think that the men who actually cut the tree limbs are certified arborists but certainly the people who come out, take a look and give the estimate are arborist.
