ADS Environmental

We sold our house, but the septic failed inspection so after paying them $4800 for site work, soil samples and engineering fees, they came with a quote of $62,000. CRAZY! So, we started over with a different contractor and a different engineering firm. We have a plan that was approved by the county and estimates of 35-40k to replace the system. Unfortunately, because they wasted our time with a ridiculous plan, our buyers lost their interest rate and walked away from the purchase. So thank you ads…..😡

This project was a nightmare. The ADS Environmental proposal deliberately under-stated the potential costs of the project and made promises that they would not honor. The estimate was constructed to break costs into small pieces and clauses designed to prevent lawsuits. At the end of three days, my front yard was destroyed, a tree in my front yard was hacked to the point it is going to have to be completely cut down, my driveway was gutted and has to be repaved and I have to climb through a pit to get to and from my front door. The cost was ten times the initial estimate and came with legal threats to sue if I did not pay immediately. I could not get an itemized breakdown of costs without a lawyer contacting ADS. The owner will not communicate or finish the job. I had to hire someone else to clean up my front yard and I will be lucky to get the paperwork completed through ADS Environmental. Truly a nightmare contractor. Do not hire this company.

The process was done extremely professionally from my first contact with them. The estimate and contract process went very smoothly. They took care of all the permits, did a great job of removing the tank, cleaning up, and hauling it away.

Simply put they informed the State on a pressure test failure. The leak was later determined to be on the top and there was no oil spillage. Unfortunately their faulty information lead to numerous encounters with the state etc. They were trying to get the soil remediation job too. DO NOT USE.

The day of the work we were satisfied, however as time has gone on- we've had several issues. After our first oil delivery we had to arrange for them to come out to remove the 2nd oil gauge because the oil company could not completely fill the oil tanks until it was removed. Apparently when there is a 2nd gauge (in the 1st tank, closest to the refill pipe outside) the 2nd gauge will leak from the pressure when it is refilled fully until the pressure and oil level evens out in the two tanks (it is greater on the oil tank which receives the influx of new oil first). During this service they managed to dent the stairs and furniture as they walked past. Now 2 years later, the oil company is refusing to deliver again because all of the joints are weeping. Apparently that is also because of the materials used to seal them and/or bad workmanship. And on top of that we have to replace the oil gauge because it is all ready broken. Their warranty only lasts a year- so we have to pay for all repairs ourselves on a rather new system. We had to call them 4 times to finally be told there was no warranty coverage---the first 3 times we were told we'd need to speak to the owner to get an answer and he'd call us but we never got a call back (over the course of a month). The fourth time I finally got a hold of someone in their office who could answer questions. We do not recommend their services due to the lack of communication and the very limited warranty.

Scott from ADS knew I was in a hurry to get the tank pulled. He came to my house and filed the permit with the town the same day I called, and immediately scheduled a date to do the pull. They arrived exactly when they said they would and did a great job. Soon as I met Boe and Ray (the guys doing the pull), I immediately felt comfortable that they were experienced and knew what they were doing. Everyone I talked to and dealt with at ADS was extremely helpful and professional. They did everything required to get the job done, I didn't have to worry about a thing. And to top it off, their price was very reasonable. If I had to do the job over again, I would most definitely hire ADS again.
