Independent Alarm

EXCELLENT For nearly half a century, Independent Alarm has protected me, my family, and our home. Growing up, I never realized the importance of having your home protected by an alarm company. We had an alarm and I took it for granted because I was a kid. Then I purchased my own home in my twenties and of course, the first thing I did was have Independent Alarm install their system. And here is the thing about Independent Alarm, they aren't just an alarm company, they become part of your family. They don't just look at you like you are another "sale of their system," they treat you like a family member they are working with and truly care about your safety. It is a family-owned business and since the time that my parents had their system installed, it has been passed down to the next generation. A lot of times when you find an alarm company changes hands, even in the case of the same family, things change. Well, I am here to say in the case of Independent Alarm, the service, and friendliness are still top-notch. I cannot fathom living in a home that is not protected by an alarm system monitored by anyone other than Independent Alarm!

Alarm monitoring services, local area network design and installation, security and surveillance systems, and service for all of the above. Their staff is extremely competent. They are attentive to the needs and scale of the community. They are responsive to service when required and self actuating for maintenance visits as promised. The community has come to rely heavily on their advice and their service for solutions to our needs. AND they are very cost effective.

I purchased a whole house alarm system for my home back in 2013 and loved the system and the service I got from IA. I then bought the same state of the art system for each of my daughters when they bought their own houses in 2014. Excellent service again. Fast forward to 2016 and my one daughter sells her house to buy a bigger one. So I contacted Independent Alarm owner Jamie and he hooked me right up with his sales associate Joe. Joe contacted my son-in-law, came to the new house right away for a check on what the new house needs and had it installed today, one week after he was there. And thanks for Angies List as I got a 10% discount for all the sensors & alarms that Andy installed. Andy was awesome. went over and above board to set my son-in-law up. The work he did was superb. Cleaned up after himself and was a super pleasant guy to deal with. If anyone has any doubts about who to go to to have an alarm system installed, then don't. Independent Alarm had the best prices, nicest group of people to walk you through everything and an excellent guy to install the system.

Very professional! Very thorough! Very clean! Actually just went perfectly!

I had them call and check if there was a notice or alert that went off or there was an issue with the uploads of data because of intermittent system and they were very helpful.

Justin Kinner came to give the estimate. He was on time and very professional. Justin offered some ideas that actually reduced what they could have charged me.
 He got the estimate back in a timely manner. I was very happy to hear they could use all of the existing wiring and could even fix the existing window contacts.
After review I decided tho go with them. We agreed on the level of service and a date.
The installers came on time and spent all day. At the end that demoed the system and the software to my satisfaction. They left the place clean and neat. But they forgot to install the surge protector. In a week they were back and finished the job. On time and on budget.
The final bill was exactly as Justin quoted.
So all this says they did exactly as they promised and exactly on budget

They are truly the best they are professional and deliver what they promise  and more . They  go the extra  mile.

Last year I had Independent install a home security system, but I did not include the smoke detectors in the installation.  I have had my home alarm system monitored by Independent and wanted to the added piece of mind that monitored smoke detectors could provide.  They were in an out of my house as if they were never here to complete the installation.  Thank You for the constant protection!!

I researched all the alarm companies on ANGIES LIST and decided to call 3 of them. The one company that blew all the rest away in Angies List reviews was "Independent Alarms". So I figured I cannot go wrong with hiring them to install my replacement alarm system (It was 30 years old and not functioning correctly any longer and i needed a new state-of-the-art system.)
The person that came out to review my needs and gave me a quote was Justin Kinner. Previous reviews said he was great. And boy were they were 1000% correct!  Justin  did NOT try to oversell me at all and in fact told me I really didn't need the amount of motion detectors that i said I wanted to purchase. (I bought them anyway!!)  The "BRAINS" of the new alarm system is called the
"2 GIG-GO! ALARM". I never heard of it before so I researched it  on the web.  WOW!  It got all kinds of great reviews from Techy web sites.  It has a cell card built into it so no worries if a thief cuts my phone lines, the built in cell card still sends out the alarms to the monitoring company. And this system can do all of the things that Comcasts XFINITY system can do (watch live stream camera's, turn on/off lights all from your smart phone or PC).  And the 24/7 monitoring system is only costing me $25 a month!
Today (10/09/2013) the installers came at the time they told me. Andy & Lou.  Super professional. They had everything up & running in 3 hours time. They taught me how to use my system and took the time to answer a lot of questions.
I have to say, I was so impressed with my new alarm system, how easy it is to work it and to the price charged by Independent Alarm and the professional installation, that i am going to buy a second system for my daughter as a wedding present for their new home.

I found Independent Alarm Co. through Angie's List. My system had
already been installed by a friend who works in the business. I had waited too long for two other nearby companies to contact me and Independent returned my call the same day.
My need was for monitoring and I wanted a family owned company. I was given
precise details of their contracted services and all my questions were
answered in a manner in which I could understand. The technician arrived
about an hour late for the appointment due to difficulty at the previous home. This was a Friday and he stayed on the job quite awhile and until finished due to  having to connect with Comcast phone system. Also, my house is 90 years old which makes any install difficult.
This young man was polite and the areas in which he worked were left clean.
I was not billed the full amount for the time spent which was a big perk.
I have already recommended Independent to a friend. 
Update: as a few months have passed since my initial install, I've had to contact their 24hr service whereby I received an immediate response. A service technician attempted to walk me through some of the possible solutions, to no avail. A service technician arrived at my home the very next morning before his scheduled appointments. He too was efficient and polite. This job was completed within 30 minutes.

They came over and looked the job exactly when they said they would. They gave us a proposal and asked when they could start. They said that they were out for 6 weeks but since we were going with them since so many years they would finish it within 21 days. They showed up after they called on the 17th day and were right here at 9 in the morning and were done by 12 noon. It was a complete start to a finish job. They cleaned up afterwards and I didn’t see even a piece of wire lying around. They took everything they had got with them. They were very professional.

There were a few issues that came up as I used the system and their response was great. They were thoroughly professional, showed up when they said, handled everything in a timely manner, and actually did more than their original quote called for with no up-charge for labor.
I use them for monitoring (very reasonable) and have had a couple of false alarms (my fault) where they responded literally within seconds. I would recommend them unreservedly. My rep was Justin who was involved from start to finish and called me several times without prompting just to see if I was satisfied. You can't go wrong with Independent Alarm.

Everything went well. Easy to contact to help with the system. Would recommend highly.
