Mike was highly recommended to us and still exceeded our expectations. He is meticulous and extremely thorough, and had a very reasonable price considering the quality of the windows and his craftsmanship. We had talked to other highly reviewed installers but feel certain that no one else would have given the level of care and precision to our home that Mike did. If you're on this page wondering if you should hire him, we would unequivocally say yes!

Mike was fantastic! He literally was half the price of anyone else who would do it. Not that many would as it was just two windows. Most of the other vendors I contacted turned me down. And those who said they would do it wanted to charge me over $600 per window. He chose the right windows, the right color, he came over to measure and took a lot of time to get it just right. He did such a fantastic thorough job that I would hire him in an instant to do any other window job I need done.

Mike, the owner of JMJ Custom Windows & Doors, was very responsive to emails and phone calls from our first contact through the completion of the project. During our initial meeting to discuss the project Mike was very thorough in his explanation of the products he offered and the installation process. He made recommendations based on his experience but never made us feel pressured to use him or his products. We received our quote for the project quickly and he answered any questions we had in a timely manner. We decided to go with JMJ Custom Windows & Doors because the quote we received was very competitive and we felt they would provide a quality installation. Mike was personally on the project from the beginning through completion and he and his team were very courteous. They used drop clothes when necessary and thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned up the work areas before they left each day. Mike and his team would also go the extra step such as touching up paint and stain in areas that were not necessarily part of the job scope. We are very pleased with the final result and would highly recommend JMJ Custom Windows and Doors!

Mike worked with us to find a quality door to fit our budget. He suggested a good quality sliding door to replace our rotted French door in order to save several hundred dollars. I needed the door ASAP, so they came on a Sunday to install the door. On installation day, Mike and Carl were professional and courteous. They did beautiful work framing, trimming, and finishing the new door. Looking at Mike's work, I could tell he's a perfectionist. Carl's trim work was terrific as well. When finished, they cleaned every little crack and crevice. I couldn't even find a fingerprint! The final bill was the same as the estimate. Mike takes a lot of pride in his workmanship and it shows in the smallest details: rough cut cedar to match existing interior trim, aluminum exterior trim that matches existing Alcoa siding, and concrete type caulk to match brick floor mortar joints. Who does that? JMJ Windows does! I highly recommend JMJ Windows for windows and doors. Thanks again guys!

From the first phone call til when the install was complete , this has been the best experience I have had with a contractor ever! Right from the start Mike came over and showed us quality replacement windows from Okna and Softlite. We chose the Okna 800dx. Mike explained every step of the install. What we wanted to hear we heard from Mike. He is the only one out of the 5 contractors we spoke to that installs the correct way by taking the siding off around the windows and installs as new construction with the nailing flange. We had 8 of the windows replaced 8 years prior the way most installers replace windows without using nailing flange and had to have these replaced at this time because of water leakage due to bad install. From the first day of the install til the last Mike the owner was on the job with his crew working also, In all we replaced 25 windows ,had to have 9 stools replaced and alot of sheetrock repair around windows along with painting and rotted wood replaced because of the previous bad install. Mike and his crew paid great attention to detail every day they were here. They cleaned up every day before leaving. In the end we have a great window that has been installed correctly. You can have a great window but with a bad install it does not matter! With JMJ Custom Windows and Doors you get both a great product and installation. Thank You Mike. Mike Johnston and his crew were amazing. Mike is that rare professional who takes tremendous pride in his work. He doesn?t cut corners and takes the extra time to make sure the job is completed correctly. I met with 4 other window installers before meeting with Mike. He was the only one who actually brought a sample of the window he would be installing and went over its operation and features, carefully explained the window installation process from start to finish and patiently answered my questions. Mike was on the job every day actively working alongside his crew. He is extremely knowledgeable about all facets of window installation. His crew was meticulous about cleaning up each day. He is very responsive to emails and phone calls. In my 36 years of homeownership, I have never met such an honest, hard-working individual who cared so much about doing a great job. The windows he installed (Okna 800 DX?s) are gorgeous and a high quality product. His price was very reasonable considering the quality of the window and the time and care he took to install them properly.  I highly recommend Mike without hesitation.

Mike and his crew are professional. He put up with my endless questions and even tried to talk me out of some options because they weren't value adding but were cost adding. But he wasn't pushy about it, just have me his advice and facts, but let me choose. I went with the overkill for the most part. The work was done meticulously. It took longer than most other contractors who bid the job claimed it would take them, but just as long as Mike said it would, because he takes pride in his work. In the end, he wasn't the cheapest. But he was the only contractor who gave me a full rundown of the install he was going to perform, the materials he was going to use and why he used them (low expansion foam insulation vs. fiberglass stuffed in the cracks, etc...). One guy just wrote a price on the back off his business card. Another had an estimate sheet, but just listed the number of windows and doors and the final price. Mike went the extra step. He even stopped by after the job was completed to show the siding contractor his preferred way to attach the J-channel to the window frame because the nail flange caused an offset. (The siding guy didn't listen to him).

Mike was awesome!  He was extremely responsive and very professional.  We had a small job, which some contractors are not interested to take, but Mike treated me like his most valuable customer.  He quickly identified what needed to  be done, handled all material ordering, was easy to communicate with and, most importantly, did excellent work.  I have already recommended him to my friends, neighbors and family.  If I have window or door needs in the future, Mike will be my first call.

Mike Johnson is a meticulous craftsman. He gave me great advice on choosing the right windows and was fanatical about detail during the installation. We had excellent communication while the project was ongoing. The job took longer to finish than I had planned, but doing the job right was the most important thing to me. Mike even corrected a slightly crooked front door handle installed by another company.This job was a very positive experience, start to finish.
