Initially they looked pretty good but soon after started cracking and the faux drawer fronts started falling off.Kept calling them and after several assurances that they would be there , they finally came back. They actually used 2 sided tape to try to attached the faux drawer fronts, not even glue. The paint under my counter top is totally peeling .. It seems every time they come back, they dont have things they need to fix the problems, so they say they will come back again and I have to start calling and calling. A couple of times I was told the owner would come over himself but he never showed. I don't think that the owner had any part in the whole process. The quality doesn't appear to be that of a professional, experienced person. I feel that my money was thrown away.

While I am ultimately happy with my cabinets, it was an ordeal from beginning to end. First they messed up on my sample door and painted it the wrong color, requiring a do-over. When they came to take the doors down and paint the cabinet boxes, it was pouring rain (they never should have painted) and the clear-coat hazed over and had to be redone some days later. Also, they had not filled the grain as we had originally discussed, and the on-site guy acted annoyed and put-out when I insisted this be done. I also discovered later that they had not properly masked off my cabinets, and there is spray paint in many places in the inside, as well as on the glass on the kitchen window. Then my doors disappeared into oblivion. When I would call, they were vague, had to check in the back to see where they were, and would give me dates when they would be done (which they were not). This happened repeatedly. I also had my new additional cabinets drop-shipped to their shop (which was their preference) and these also disappeared into oblivion, and they also lost most of the hardware that had come with them, claiming that there had never been any (I checked with the cabinet company; three of the four cabinets had been shipped with all hardware installed, and the others had hardware attached). The new cabinets came back in dribs and drabs - the first time the boxes only, which had never been glazed, and had to go back to be redone. The second time they again delivered the boxes only, which they left on my concrete garage floor without alerting me, scraping the underside, while I was not home. The doors also came back in dribs and drabs. During the last and final visit I got all my doors and the paper towel holder, but the installer hung the vanity doors crooked, and they were stuck shut (no knob had yet been installed). I will have to get a carpenter to come and fix this. In addition, the paper towel holder was obviously quickly sprayed with spray paint (it still smelled), they never filled the grain, and they never clear-coated it. I gave up on this and just threw it away rather than deal with them any further. There are other places where things went wrong, but you get the idea.... a projected three-day job turned into over two months. In all fairness, the cabinets do look lovely. When they do the job right, their work is excellent. Also, the owners themselves are very nice people, just grossly disorganized. It was clear to me that the sloppiness of the whole project was not in any way intentional; they simply don't write things down, make promises that they've forgotten they've made, and don't communicate information to the people who need it, etc. Their on-site guy is not doing them any favors - sometimes his work is good, other times he is moody and rude, does sloppy work and runs out.
Description of Work: I contracted with Touch of Class to repaint my existing kitchen cabinets. This included painting, highlighting the edging with a contrasting color (glazing) and clear-coating. I also added another upper and lower cabinet for the kitchen, a new wood paper towel holder, and a new vanity and wall cabinet for the attached half bath.

Response from TOUCH OF CLASS FINE FINISHING INC
First of all we never messed up her sample. Ron worked hard to make sure he got her color right. Dale was one of those customers that was at my shop every other day to discuss the job, It was as if she thought she was our only customer which is fine with me. I liked her and tried to please her. My guys explained to Dale on the first day of onsite that there was a possibility it could fog and we would come back the next day to check and make sure it was right. She said fine and happy we were so thorough. When we came back to deliver the doors we dropped them off EXACTLY where her carpenter told us to put them. As far as holding up the job...we were waiting for her carpenters to complete the new work. Once the work came in she had to get into the schedule. That is how it works. It wasn't an ordinary job as we had to refinish existing and then wait for the carpenters to complete the new work and match it all in. Then Dale complained about the grain showing on oak. Even though she approved the sample we worked hard to fill the grain for her. (usually a 25% upcharge but to please her we filled it for nothing) The bathroom vanity doors went right back into existing holes. If there was a problem Dale never mentioned it but we would have made an adjustment if we knew. As far as my worker customers love him so the bad attitude comment is out of nowhere. He has been with the company 18 years and I know he is respectful to customers. The job looked beautiful in the end despite dealing with a difficult customer. It is what we do best. We please everyone.

The carpenter came out in a snowstorm to do the work. I was amazed the job wasn't cancelled. I know love my new and more functional kitchen cabinets. Not only that, but they suggested I paint and glaze my existing cabinets to update the look. I went to an open house of a multimillion dollar home that they did all the kitchen and woodwork for during its renovation. It was beautiful, high quality workmanship in a mansion, but I was afraid to paint the cabinets in case i did not like it. So they made samples based on an extra cabinet face I had with just the glaing and I rejected the first ideas. It just needed something more than glaze but not paint. So they went back to the drawing board. When the appointment was made to show me another sample, I was thinking I may not want to do it after all and I should just leave my cabinets as is. They were relatively expensive when they were put in 18 years ago. I was not expecting much but was shocked when I was shown the sample. It was perfect and fit in perfectly with a new tile floor I had put in last year, and the existing granite counters. So I signed on to stain and glaze them. The price was less than a 10th of what a new cabinet would cost. Well worth it. The owners are wonderful, it's a husband and wife team. Ron is an artist. I can't wait for them to do the stain and glaze. I am going to use them again in the future to redo 2 baths. They are a find.
Description of Work: I needed cabinet repairs and updating. Wanted lazy susan in corner cabinet and pullouts installed in other cabinets. Needed some minor fixes here and there. Was afraid job was too small and some other companies were put off that it wasn't a complete remodel and just wanted big jobs.
