I'm usually hesitant to randomly choose someone from a list but this turned out to be a very smart decision. Sam has been doing this for a very long time and really knows what he's doing. He's old school and will draw a picture in his notebook. But he really listens to what you want and will offer cost effective alternatives and other suggestions if you're unsure. He built a banquette in our kitchen and it is so stunning that everyone comments on it when they walk in. He is now building us built-in bookshelves for our dining room and we can't wait. Sam is honest, reliable, thoughtful and a true craftsman. You won't go wrong. He can also recommend lots of delicious restaurants in the area in case you don't want to cook in the gorgeous kitchen he builds for you!

It went beautifully! Sam and his team are professional, trustworthy and very nice! There are no issues with leaving them in the house alone. They cleaned up after the job. (Just some wood dust from the installation.) They arrived when they said they would, and went right to work. Sam has also built our home office. We did not have plans for him, but told him what we wanted and he came back with a rendering and brought different wood finishes to choose from. These built-ins cover the entire wall of the office and include a his and hers desk, and cabinets above and below the desk. We then asked Sam to built a credenza, which he designed and built to finish the room. In my first house, Sam gutted and remodeled my kitchen. Again, he laid out the room as I did not have plans. The kitchen cabinets were custom designed and made of Cherry wood. (my choice). He added a center island with a seating area. He replaced the floors and back splash. We could only afford Formica countertops at that time, but Sam added a wood bullnose to make it look less like Formica. Years later, when I was able, we changed the countertops to Granite and Sam did that for us as well. Every project that Sam has done for us has been done beautifully, without issue every time. His prices are very fair and he does not "nickel and dime." I HIGHLY recommend Custom Designs by Sam!

Thank God for Sam. My wife & I were going through one of the worst kitchen nightmares. We pretty much got robbed by another cabinet maker ( MCC Designs). All of our kitchen, bathroom & laundry room cabinets were built wrong. The guy just couldn't get them right. Sam was refered to us by our lighting designer & electrician. He was very responsive & showed up on time. He basically had to redo all of our cabinets. Nothing the other cabinet maker did worked. Sam fixed everything & now my kitchen, master bath & laundry room are amazing. He also did a phenomenal job with staining all of our interior doors. If it wasn't for Sam & his nephew we wouldn't be able to get into the house this month. I will definitely use him on our next project. He does amazing custom work.
