Dennis is a consummate professional. Within a day of receiving my inquiry about setting up some high-end speakers, he expertly talked me through the optimal set-up given my space and needs, and he then set to work getting the job done, efficiently and scrupulously. Where the materials I had at the ready were insufficient, he had all needed materials handy (speaker wire, batteries, etc.), and he was transparent about pricing/alternative options at every turn. I'll go to him next time I have audio needs.

Honestly, couldnt recommend Dennis enough. My system is ~10 years old and somewhat complex (4 zones, each with audio through a centralized sonos port/amp system, and video). He was able to diagnose potential fault points and correct them quickly. Thanks for making a daunting task quick, painless and affordable.

We renovated a brownstone in New York City. An important part of the work was installation of a sound system on the main floor, in the 2nd floor family room and in the backyard. In conjunction with this work, we set up a home theater connected to Direct TV, ran Ethernet wires to most rooms to connect to the internet and set up a strong and stable Wifi. Also we installed Sonos boxes to access music from the internet and my computer. We hired Dennis (the proprietor of DH Audio and Home Theater who did most of the work, but utilized experienced technicians) because he demonstrated very good technical knowledge when interviewed, provided excellent recommendations and gave a competitive price. Dennis planned out the job in written, specific detail (unusual for contractors) and worked with us to see what services we would like and the associated costs. Our job was challenging because we planned for a one year renovation, but it turned out to be 2 1/2 years. This extended period required more effort to manage and added complexity to the job. Dennis started with wiring the house while the walls were exposed. Then he had to wait until we had electricity provided in an equipment closet to install the audio / visual equipment. He had to coordinate with the electrician, general contractor and carpenter on a regular basis. For example, installing speakers in ceilings and soffits sometimes was tricky because of space limitations. During times he was waiting for other work to be completed, we sometimes had inadvertent damage to his equipment and wires, which he had to diagnose the problem and fix. After many months, he started programming the equipment using computer utilities. I believe this work took about 2 weeks (but not full time) to do. Then he had to work out glitches which I discovered by using it initially. After that, he provided phone support when I had something that I could not operate completely. To boost the WiFi signal, he added wireless access point devices on each floor. This are very useful in providing stable wireless internet, but are finicky and are placed by trial and error to provide optimal functionality. Because of ongoing construction, we had an unexpected drop off of service, which Dennis analyzed and reestablished the strong signal throughout the house. At the end, we ran speaker and volume control wire in PVC pipes outside and set up speakers. We used one set of speakers he recommended which are also plant boxes, so they are not obvious. As you may infer from this description, this work needed someone who was technically competent, flexible in change of design from the client, would operate in a construction environment, and committed to completing the work no matter what the obstacles are. Dennis was terrific in all of these areas. He is fair and honest, which is an important consideration when selecting someone. (Of note, with Dennis, as with all contractors, the client must pay close attention to change orders and be sure they understand the scope and cost of the work.) He also was able to purchase equipment at the market rate, which saves the client time in shopping. I heartily recommend Dennis for installing a sound system, home theater, Sonos, and WiFi.

Overall, it went well. Dennis was very thorough in inspecting the space and providing detailed estimates, and he was flexible in adjusting work that needed to be adjusted.

The shelves hold the speakers and also some pictures--a good addition to the room. Everything looks and sounds good. In a follow-up session, he was very patient about teaching me how to use the remotes.

Dennis came to my house and provided me with a customized appraisal of what my house would need in terms of audio system. All customization was done with my existing video/audio setup. Dennis was very attentive to all my requests and the equipment purchased was top notch. Installation was done timely and professionally. Dennis is knowledgable and courteous and is always responsive to all follow up questions. Dennis provided perfect communication from the minute we spoke. He asked me to send him photos so he better understood my situation. I sent a photo of a jumble of wires, and a stereo system and TV that didn't work. This was something that I could not find anyone to come fix. I don't know why, but no company, electrician or handy man would touch it. And then Dennis was found! 
Dennis arrived on time, with all the tools he needed. He also had appropriate cables needed to fix what the issues were in the system. 
He did everything that was required to get it all working again.

Went very smoothly and professionally. Dennis is not your typical in and out service provider, he takes great pride in final product and customers ability to to understand and operate. Very competent and obviously in it for the long haul.

It was the worst. Extremly misleading. Dennis gave me a quote over the phone of what he can do for the type of setup I wanted. Then following the walk through of my home and showing him how I wanted the my system setup which he charges he then gave me a different quote adding in all the extra parts I was going to need. After agreeing to have him do the job Dennis asked for a cash only deposit since I was asking him to do the job the following day and it was short notice. After receiving the a job order from him detailing everything he tell me what time him and his crew will arrive but little did I know his crew was one other guy that was a friend of his that had just gotten off his regular job to come make some extra cash helping Dennis. Now at this point I realize the unprofessionalism but by then I already given him money. Dennis charges labor by the hour so now once the job starts they start to move slow and claiming they where having problems fishing the wires in the wall. Thinking that I could trust that my system would be setup efficiently and properly wrong Little did I know that Dennis has come back and redesigned the enitre system we spoke about on his own and starts installing things the way he wanted it done. He pushed his labor time to the max (7hrs) and then when we said he was done the work was not what I asked for very amateur looking and wires all over the place. But that not it. He writes up the add-on on the contract and gives it to my wife and he attempted to charged us for connecting each part of our surround sound system individually. When I asked him about the add-ons and why he didn't hide my wires in the wall his response was that's not what included in the labor time and he would have to charge you 3 more hours. When it was all said and done extremely unhappy with the work that was done and now have to spend my money to get someone else to do it correctly.
