Mike and Eddie were always punctual (arriving by 7:30 am most days), attentive to every single detail, and super-nice. We’re beyond thrilled with their work.

Mr. Collins installed a deck at my mother's house. They started when he said they would, did excellent work and were done quickly. The deck is beautiful, exactly what she wanted. I would highly recommend him.

Mike is very professional and does high quality work. Tellingly, our town's building inspector during the final inspection commended the quality of the deck that Mike built. I highly recommend Mike

Mike is old school and knows his stuff. He is well organized and is very very clean. His help is just as good and they work well together and quick but not rushed. Was on time and never sat around. His work is excellent and based on other quotes he was the most fair and well worth it. I will be using him again.

Mike and Eddie took apart our old wood deck and rebuilt it with Trex composite decking. The new deck came out even more beautiful than my wife and I anticipated! They did such a beautiful, professional job! They were meticulous with every detail. We love it and are so happy we found them to do our job!

Mr. Collins was exceptional. Upon meeting Mr. Collins I could tell he was a man of honor and respect which you don't see these days. He and his sons were at my house everyday at 7:45 setting up and began the work at 8am sharp. They are pleasant to deal with, answered all my calls promptly and were always ready and willing to answer any questions I had. All the work was completed in the time frame they indicated. Everything was also super clean when they were done. I only wish they would do other work as I would hire them for everything. I really would give them A+++++. I am so glad I hired them. Reasonable price.

Mike Collins really is a 'master' deck builder. My deck is approximately 600 square feet.  He used the existing substructure which was in good shape. Using treated wood he replaced all the deck boards and built 2 sets of steps to the deck. He built new railing using a smart functional design which has a 4 inch opening on the bottom rail for easy sweeping and hosing. He added lattice and built a really cool hinged lattice door to provide easy access to get under the deck for lighting & plumbing needs. Mike and his assistant used high quality materials throughout the job. All measurement and cutting was precise.This was a totally professional job all around. Pricing was reasonable. I would highly recommend him to friends and associates. Mike is the guy to go to if you want a deck built.

Mike Collins is a good guy.  He was always punctual for our scheduled appointments and easy to reach.  The contract process was fairly straightforward and he set right to work with a full crew once we agreed on terms.  His quote was very expensive but typical for Bergen County.  I compared against other reputable contractors and trusted him the most to do a quality job & be responsive if I had any issues.  The fact that Mike's been in business for a long time as both landscaper & deck builder in the area was a testament to the quality of his work & work ethic.  Mike Collins was present and personally built my deck with his crew.    The majority of materials were high quality and purchased from a building supply store.
Mike's deck is solid, period!  And in general looks beautiful as well.  Like all construction projects we did have a number of issues arise which Mike generally handled in stride.  There were some issues that unfortunately could not be addressed without considerable expense or re-work.   He and I came to an agreement on a discounted final payment for a resolution.  He reviewed all of my concerns and was a gentleman throughout the process. 
I give Mike an A- overall which is pretty d*** good if you've seen my other reviews.  I would work with Mike again and have no problems recommending his services.  

Working with Mike was an exceptional experience.  He and his crew are true professionals and craftsmen.  We replaced an existing wooden deck leading down stairs to an old paver patio.  Mike worked with us to design a wrap around deck from Trex II decking material.  The old deck was removed, new footings were installed in the patio and framing begun.  Mike was onsite the entire time, working with his team to install decking, railing and trim.  Mike constructed custom stringers for the stairs.  Mike is skilled enough to work around an old house, built in 1928, that wasn't exactly square, throwing some of the dimensions off by inches.  A less skilled carpenter would not have been able to work around these challenges and delivered such amazing results.  The deck is stunning, to say the least.  I wish I could include some before/after pictures. We could not be more happy.

Mike left the site clean and tidy, was a pleasure to deal with and we're thrilled we decided to go with Mike Collins for a very challenging job.  Kudos to Mike and crew!

I was very impressed with the service and work done by Mike Collins and his crew.  They were very professional, timely, and cleaned up completely when the job was completed.  Mike was on the job himself which gave me greater confidence.  Their quality and follow-up to make sure that I was pleased with their job was outstanding.  In addition, they were very responsive to scheduling my job within the timeframe that I required (I was coordinating 3 separate house projects).  Quality work, very professional, and a nice crew!  I highly recommend them.

Mike is very professional. He came to do the estimate and took the measurements. He worked with us to create the desired layout. Then, he arrived with his team at the promised time. He and his team work very efficiently together. They obviously have a great deal of experience. They did an excellent job building and left the area very clean. Mike definitely delivers on what he promises!

Mike did a fantastic job. Our space was not large, so they tore down and built in the same day. He had to leave the old wood in the driveway for a day, due to an issue with one of his trucks. But he informed us ahead of time and came back the next day to remove it as promised. It's absolutely beautiful, we just love it!

I explained that above.  It was a cakewalk.  There was no problems whatsoever.
I am completely satisfied that is why I am writing this review.  He was a great find
and I want everyone else to know.  It was very difficult for me to find someone to do 
my deck so I want to make it easier for someone else.
