John had signed a contract with us to perform a internal renovation design. There was an architectural component to it and a structural design component. He initially gave us a low ball amount to perform the task. Gradually over time he increased the amount and finally refused to do the structural design part. On his recommendation we hired a structural engineer and had a contract to do the structural design for $3,000. In the dstructural drawings prepared by the structural engineer there were obvious deficiencies. One was that an existing steel beam was shown as new instead of as existing something that even a layman could detect. I had pointed it out to John who promised to get it chnaged. Months passed and nothing happened. Unfortunately it so transpired that the structural engineer passed away. The building dpeartment inspector needed some evidence from John to show that he concurred that there was a mistake in the drawing. However, he cited possibility of his insurance premium increasing as a pre-text to get more money from us before he could furnish a letter to the building dept. This is where the matter stands right now. We may have to hire another architect to validate the drawings.

"I like to rectify another large error in the member's statement, for my services he paid only $4200 including printing costs, far less then $10000 the amount mentioned in his letter. I am coming back to this site to set the record straight only because in a phone conversation with him about two weeks ago, he stated that he would like to come back and rectify his letter, obviously he never did it."

We, at Bergen Remodeling, used John Tudor's services a number of times for various additions and alterations. Every time we received beyond promised results and happy homeowners. Prices are generally very modest especially for an architect with 20+ years of experience and a European education. John is very good with variances.
