Ideal Tile of Paramus Inc.

Description of Work: I went to Ideal Tile of Paramus to purchase tile for my bathroom. I was helped by Joe, who showed me around the store nicely enough. I picked out a marble basket weave tile that was predominantly white with subtle grey veining. I picked up my boxes and gave them to my tile guy. Before he started, he opened three of the five boxes that I purchased. Two and a half of the boxes were the exact tiles that I was shown in the showroom so, he began to lay the tile. Then, in the middle of the 3rd box, the tiles drastically changed. They went from this beautiful white tile with grey veins to a muddy grey-brown with very little white at all. I am certainly aware of variations of color in natural stone, but this was riduculous. They looked like two completely different tiles. There was no way to blend them at all. Being that part of the tiles had already been installed, I immediately called the store, only to be told that it was my fault that I didn't open ALL the boxes first. I told him that I thought it was reasonable to assume that if the first 2 1/2 boxes were fine that it was probably ok to proceed, being that there was little room in my tiny bathroom for tile examination. As he insisted that it was my fault for not having checked the tile, I told him that that point was moot because even if I had gone throught the tile, I still would have found grey tiles and not white, which is not what I ordered! He told me that it was too bad and that there was nothing he could do for me. I couldn't believe my ears. After a bit of back and forth, he said he could maybe get some more boxes. He did, but they were the wrong pattened tiles. They were octagons, not the basket weave. So, another week goes by (with no bathroom)and he says he will order 4 more boxes and that was it and that was all he was willing to do. Like I was being punished or something. I asked how many boxes they had in stock and he told me 600 sqft. I asked why he was only ordering 4 boxes when ordering a few more would better my odds of getting more white tiles? and he said because that was all he was willing to do. I just got back from the store where I examined the boxes, and no white tiles could be gleened from the group. It was left that I have to call the owner tomorrow and then I have to call the corporate offices after that to try and get a resolution. I then asked, why he wasn't talking to the owner or calling the corporate offices for me, which would be the obvious and right thing to do and he said because "you can call them."
