They gave me a pretty hard sell during a "private sale," but comparison shopping since then has shown me that their prices are not that competitive. They were fair, however, for the market.
The flooring materials themselves are nice, but I told the workers upon completion that I felt some unevenness in the floor and that it felt "wavy" to walk on them in a spot or two. They said there was nothing they could do and that it's supposed to feel like that. I called the manager 2 weeks later after trying to live with it, and informed her it just does not feel right and I should not have to walk on a subpar floor for $5K. She had her contractor call me back and he said he would come by in a few days. It never happened.
I got busy and forgot to follow up, but recently we noticed that our sliding glass doors are much harder to open and close, and it turns out that the way the workers cut the wood, it's just too close and is rubbing against the doors. I called again and was assured I will get a call back from the contractor. We will see if they rectify these situations. If so, I'll be happy to amend my review and ensure that they do, in fact, ensure customer satisfaction.
I will say, however, I was surprised that they sent a crew who speaks little English to do the job and then nobody whom I dealt with in the store ever followed up to see how the job was completed. In a sales transaction totaling thousands of dollars, you would think that any kind of sales associate would follow up, as a basic tenet of business.
In one place, the carpet was cut unevenly. As you walk in looking at the hallway, there are gaps all along the edge. You can see this when you walk in my front door. They left a hole where they should have covered it on posts. In my laundry room entrance, they installed the metal strip on the edge. They banged this down with the hammer to get rid of sharp edges. Upstairs, where the hallway meets the bedroom carpeting, there is no strip down. Where you go from the living room into the hall, where the flooring meets the carpeting, they put chord around and made it uneven. They did not put the correct brass strip between the flooring and carpeting. The brass strip was too short. All along the brass strip, there was a mound of carpeting because it had not been cut right and the brass strip was way too thin to accommodate the difference in height between the flooring and carpeting. Some of these things have been fixed. It's a lot better than it was, but it's still not correct.
