UPDATE: The owner finally emailed me back saying that the guy who came to regrout my bathroom is lying to me and trying to scam me for money. I find that CRAZY because the guy ONLY RE-GROUTS he does not INSTALL tile. He is not a contractor. He REFUSED to re-grout our tile and only did calking because he said the tile grout was going to crack again since the tile is loose and it would crack in a few weeks. He did a wonderful job on the calking.
The owner sent me a few google searches he did of why the grout around tile would be cracking... he is trying to blame it on my house shifting. He is trying to blame it on wood root (meanwhile he was suppose to replace EVERYTHING in the bathroom including subflooring). He won't take responsibility for his faulty job. He diagnosed the problem through his own google search!!! He didn't come out and inspect the tile to see if its loose, you can't tell that from a picture.
UPDATE #2:
1. Plumbing- When you do new plumbing, you test it for leaks before you install the drywall. If you see a leak, you fix it. they didn't have the patience to let us look and fix it. <---- Lies. I was in no rush.. I never once complained that anything was taking to long. It was ANNOYING - but I never complained. I added a new picture to show you what the plumbing actually looked like.
2. Insufficient funds - We put a stop payment on the check because our plumbing was leaking! We were suppose to pay them when we had ONE functioning bathroom. The bathroom was not functioning so I quickly put a stop payment on the check and paid them once the issue was resolved. I told one of his employees I put a stop payment on the check - but I guess they didn't want to tell him.
3. Satisfaction - We were never satisfied but we were sick of dealing with them. Anytime that there was an issue - they would try to "fix" the problem but made it worse.
4. Hot water - We never touched the water heater. Just like we never touched the Sump pump outlet -- this man actually tried to blame my 2 year old child.. he told me that he must of went downstairs and unplugged and sump pump and changed the setting on the water heater. Meanwhile his guys were in my basement and had their tool plugged into the outlet the sump pump was previously plugged into.
5. Vacation - I went on vacation for 3 days with my mother in law checking on their work every day. He told me not to worry he would do my electric while I was gone. I came home -- it was not done. He tried to tell me we don't need new electric -- we wanted new coper wiring and we let him know that before signing the contract. It was in the contract. So because he thought we didn't need it, he didn't do it. He never asked or discussed this with us. He only called to ask me silly questions like where to put the towel bar and stuff like that.
6. He emailed me VERY P***** OFF after reading this review. I had told him that I think I know what the issue is... he fell through my ceiling when he was doing the electric in the attic (a few days after tile was installed) the tile is lose in that area only.. I am thinking that caused the tile to come up. He never responded.
We had other quotes right inline with this but I picked this company because they could start ASAP and I wanted them to do my kitchen (the other company only did bathrooms). We did not demand perfection - but we wanted them to do a nice job. Instead they tapped my drain stop in my sink.. did 1 coat of paint of my doors.. and other short cuts.
"From the owner: For all my years in the business I've never had a bad review, and for one reason- Satisfied customers are the best advertising there is! The customer paid $12000 for 2 bathrooms including everything- I paid for Whirlpool tub, stand up shower, 2 vanities with top and faucet, 2 glass shower doors, mirrors, travertine tile, 2 toilets, shower shelves, new plumbing, new electricity, new sub floors etc. Paying that price for all that is not expensive at all!!! The reason it took longer (Not 5 weeks), is because we are located about 60 miles from the customer, and last winter we had many days with severe weather- I explained that to the customer that I don't want to put my employees in danger, and she was fine with that. Plumbing- When you do new plumbing, you test it for leaks before you install the drywall. If you see a leak, you fix it. they didn't have the patience to let us look and fix it. The matter of not having hot water- I came specially on Sunday morning with my plumber as soon as they told me they have a problem with the hot water- The problem was that someone touched the heat dial on the water heater set to "Low", that was the "Problem". The family took a vacation, leaving me with the house keys. Every step of the way, I called or emailed them to ask their opinion, and they said " We trust you, do what you think...". The check for the 2nd payment came back. I asked the bank and they said that it's either " insufficient funds" or the customer did a stop payment on the check. I didn't get any notice about that from the customer, nor he said anything pointing that direction. With all the hard time that I got from them, I was able to finish the job to their satisfaction. If they had issues with the job we did, why didn't they call the contractor who did the job?! Before receiving this review, I apologized to her about getting back to her a bit late, cause we're busy and working in a basement with no reception. At the last email, I also offered her to come and check her complaints, but I guess that's not going to happen. I'm sorry the customer feel bad, but we gave a very reasonable price, and good service- As always! Thank you."
