In 2006,we decided to have new fascia, soffit and rain gutters installed, additionally, although our roof wasn't leaking, it was starting to show signs of curling and decided to have it replaced at the same time. We hired RJ Miller to complete the job. In the contract it was stated: that any rotted or damaged wood would be replaced, plus to correct a buckle in tongue and groove boards on roof and install 50yr warranty shingles. Rob did complete the job in a timely manner and did clean up the site as agreed to, but failed to have someone on site who spoke English for us to address questions/concerns as promised during installation. When we noticed his crew were not correcting the buckle in the roof, there was no one there to explain to them to stop until the problem was corrected. A few weeks after completion, we had a storm and the whole section of fascia and rain gutters, across the back of the house, blew off and the soffit was hanging down in a few areas. It took numerous calls and 6 months before he returned to reinstall the rain gutters, fascia and soffit, at which time, we discovered the rotten rafter tails weren't replaced as spelled out in the contract, thus the reason for the fascia and gutters being damaged. By this time we noticed a number of leaks in the roof and showed them to Rob in the upstairs bedroom (area where buckle in roof wasn't repaired) , laundry room and living room. At that time, he said he fixed some nail pops and some shingles that appeared not to have sealed properly, also I witnessed him put some screws into the siding above the bay window where the leaks were in the living room, stating his crew had failed to seal the flashing. Since there was damage to the interior, we asked about getting it repaired and he said he would have his insurance company contact us. His efforts failed to correct the leaks and we contacted him numerous times to correct the problems and for his insurance adjuster to repair the interior damage to the house. It took approximately 2 years for Rob to replace the front part of the house (still failing to correct the problems) and refusing to repair the roof above the bay window, claiming the damage was done by another contractor whom we had remove some windows on the 2nd floor, which was ridiculous because the other contractor never touched the area near the bay window, besides I witnessed Rob putting those screws in. We called Rob a couple of times after that to find out why his insurance adjuster hadn't contacted us and to complain about still having leaks, and Rob said he wasn't doing anymore and finally didn't return our calls. We never did hear from his insurance company and now in 2018 we have to have the whole roof replaced again and have the improperly installed soffit repaired.

The work was perfect, they did it in 2 days.  I didn't have to replace the gutters. They cleaned up well.

The men worked hard, long hours for three and a half days,
Every night before they left, the days debris was cleaned up into the dumpster.  The workers were well-mannered
and considerate.  The job foreman took time to explain things they were doing and to reassure me about a mid-job rain.
The price was lower than other estimates.  I was/am very pleased.

Beware, he hires sub-contractors and doesn't stand by his work. Roof leaked with 36 hours and he didn't stand by the work.

All went well. We have been very pleased with RJ Miller's work. Our Direct TV dish was mounted back onto our roof without any difficulties. We were given photos of the job and it was a job well done! RJ Miller answered my call right away when I had a separate issue and he came right out to look at it and take care of it.

I called multiple times just trying to set up a quote for some work and each time I was told by Barbara that Robert would be getting in touch with me and he never did.  How many times are you supposed to call a company to give them your business.  I would not use them in the future.

Approximately 2.5 years ago, I filed a civil suit against this company for a variety of things including consumer fraud and violations of NJ's Home Improvement Act.  If this isn't enough to encourage you to look for a different company, I'll go on...

Everything leaks!  I mean...EVERYTHING LEAKS!!!  I have leaks in the main roof.  The back roof leaked so badly that it destroyed my bedroom wall and ceiling.  I can hear dripping behind the wall in a different bedroom.  I get standing water on numerous window sills.  The list goes on and on.

When I contacted a lawyer to see if they would help me work with this company, RJ Miller Roofing & Construction refused to accept their certified mail.  This is all despite the fact that their contract included a 25 year warranty on labor.  I was even more disgusted with this company's complete lack of professionalism at our depositions.  He didn't keep any paperwork or remember anything...supposedly.  Good thing I kept all my paperwork and remember all of our conversations!

As my neighbor says, he's a snake.

Rob came out personally and gave me the estimate. He told me he would need to remove the shingles around the chimney to find the root cause of the leak. The previous company had applied muck around the base of the chimney in large quantities in an effort to stop the leak. Rob could not find the area until he removed the shingles to evaluate the work underneath. He returned the following week with members of his crew and did the work. On removing the shingles, he found that the flashing around the chimney was not done properly by the previous contractor and replaced it along with new shingles. A steady rain today showed no signs of a leak. The roof looks 100% better than before and I have a two year warranty on the work. I need to repair a closet that was damaged due to the leak and will wait until after the next heavy rainfall prior to starting that repair but after dealing with the original contractor the experience I had with Rob's company was a welcome relief.

Told me exacatly what I need. Said roof would last at least another 5 or so years. Another guy said roof needed to be replaced. Repaired roof, and replaced vents. Nice guy, knew what he was doing. Very fair price.

I called RJ Miller based on their reviews here on the list. Robert was very punctual and showed up right on time. He was thorough and detailed in his estimate of the job. He gave me his undivided attention, answered all of my questions, and even left samples for me to look over. In the end we opted to just patch out existing roof and hope to get a couple of more years out of it. But we will definitely be calling him back when we are ready to do the BIG job.
