Vince Rambala Dog Training

Animal Training Service,

About us

Vince Rambala grew up with dogs and spent most of his time learning how to train. Tired of seeing abusive trainers, he searched for and adopted a methodology using gentle, positive reinforcement as well as good old common sense. He apprenticed with a professional trainer and volunteered in an animals shelter for several years. 1992, he took his extensive knowledge and love for animals and became a professional dog trainer. Vince is the proud owner of two rescue dogs, Wyatt and Hope. Vince uses the animal's natural behavior and instincts to achieve responses. Choke chains and prong collars are never used. The goal is for your dog to be a valued member of your family and welcomed everyone you go. Your dog should show no aggression and you should be able to touch your dog everywhere - ears, nails, etc. Vince's dog sleep on the bed and the couches. Spoiling your dog is fine - aggression is not. Vince is a certified New Jersey Animal Control Officer and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. He is proud to be a member of the Ringwood Volunteer Fire Company #1 Stonetown.

Jodi returned my call and shared the details of her conversation with Vince regarding the options available to me. She also gave me plenty of helpful information regarding the dog's personalities based on what i shared with her, She was concerned that some agessive behaviors between the two dogs may not be responsive to training and also that it may be expensive and requiring extensive training sessions. She gave me some alternative therapies such as a dog behaviorist who may be helpful. I appreciated their honesty and valuable time. I will definitely consider training from Vince; comfortable that he and Jodi were upfront, honest and compassionate.

Seriously amazing trainer.
Our 75 lb. lab mix came from a high-kill shelter in Kentucky, where it had been taken prematurely from its mother and was never properly socialized. So, while he has always been a big, lovable mush with his immediate family, his personality around other people and dogs, well, frankly, not so good.
Attempts with three other trainers and an overpriced animal-behaviorist did absolutely nothing.
Vince was completely different. His ability to communicate with dogs is nothing short of miraculous, and his love of the animals (including his own perfectly behaved pets) is evident. He doesn't make you feel like an idiot for not being able to control your pet (which did happen with other trainers), and all the other members of the class were helpful and supportive.
We've seen a huge improvement in just a short period of time, and we expect it's only going to get better!

As stated, my wife was skittish as to how to handle her new puppy when it got mouthy. I had three dogs previously but she needed to feel calm in the presence of the dog. Vince gave us a personal session and helped my wife get over her initial feelings.
The obedience school was simply great. Vince was given training sessions seven days a week, at times, for years now. He is familiar with all the characteristics of the different breeds and is able to diagnose and suggest changes in behavior that take care of any unwanted behavior. We asked about feeding, walking, sleeping, training and a whole array of questions and he had a good answer for anything we could think of. He also gave handouts as to exercises for between classes, assignments for what to train on and his contact information for any follow up questions. Couldn't ask for more.
He includes his own 2 dogs at the training. They have been with him for several years as shelter dogs and are accusomted to people and other dogs. They are an example of what be\aved dogs can do.
We signed up for additional classes. As part of the normal training, he demonstrates and takes the puppies through some agility moves and people can sign up for training in just this area, if they desire.
I am so very happy that we took our dog for training classes with Vince Rambala and highly recommend him.

He is a terrific trainer for dogs and puppies. We started out puppy with him at 4 months old and have continued with him for the last 7 months. I was skeptical at first of what a dog trainer adds to the equation since I had dogs previous to this. I have learned as much if not more than our puppy has. Vince is a master at knowing dogs and their habits. He can spend some time and tell you what the attitude of the dog will be and how to work best with it. He has shy dogs, routine dogs, and yes he can work with aggressive dogs, if need be. His routine consists of introducing as much contact as possible with your dog and people, situations and other dogs. He acclimates the dogs to the situations around them so that they are attuned to the surrounding beforehand.
His ability to work with dogs is outstanding. He brings out the playfullness in dogs that are shy and tames the rough edges of the ones that need it.
He also has agility classes that he introduces into the program, but they are available as a separate course. The dogs gain confidence in handling themselves in overcoming obstacles.
From puppies months old to the older dogs that simply were never properly trained to dogs that were rescued from the pound and need to be introduced to the home and family.

I would heartily recommend his service to any dog owner.

Terrific. He brought instructions to help us remember some of the commands we would be using, as well as a sheet on what to expect in a puppies life in terms of training capabilities. He went through a series of sessions on basis commands with our 9 week old puppy. I explained that my wife had a fearful response when the dog would start playing rough and show his teeth (in play but still disconcerting. We covered the response for this as well as come, stay, kisses, stop, and other items that will be helpful for the immediate future. We plan to follow up with a group class so that socialization skills can be learned. In between, we will repeat the skills and look forward to a wonderful puppy.

He is very, very competent, very concerned about the dog and I guess it should be that way. He is a nice guy, but, he is very professional, like he is there to get the job done and he loves the animal. The price is pretty average.

We adopted a dog who was aggressive with other dogs. We took her to Vince's classes and she was getting better under his tutelage. Unfortunately, there was an incident and we couldn't keep her. Vince helped us with this difficult decision. He is very wise with dogs and his owners and very kind. You can see he loves the dogs! Now we are waiting for classes to begin again so we can have our new dog trained.
