I would never recommend this inspector. He wasn't very interested in showing me what he was doing or educating me about the property. After it was over, I found out that the cement block that was under the air-conditioning unit outside was completely cracked and sliding down the hill on the side of the house. There was no way he should have missed this. It was cracked so badly that the a/c unit was tilted to one side. It cost me hundreds of dollars to have it repaired, as I had to pay my HVAC guys to remove the unit and replace it (two charges). Then the cement block had to be repaired in addition. I also couldn't figure out how to turn on the jetted tub that was in the master bath. And neither could any other professional contractor that I had working in the house. I called him and asked him to stop by to show me how. A family member of his had just passed away and I told him that there was no hurry, but please let me know when it was convenient. He never called back. I contacted him a few months later by email and he had lots of excuses. He never got back to me. I am sure that he never checked the tub to see if it was working on the original inspection. Most of the problems that he found (few) were something that he suggested that I follow up on. Example: He thought there might be a hole in the roof. Instead of really checking it out, he left it for me to follow up on. I felt like he should have done that. Either there is a hole or there isn't a hole. I feel if an inspector can't determine that there is a hole, then he isn't very good. Maybe he just lacked knowledge about these things, but I was really annoyed and it ended up costing me hundreds of dollars to fix things that he should have caught in the inspection. And the fact that he would never resolve the tub issue was just unprofessional and a testimony that he only wanted to get in, get out and get his check.
Description of Work: I don't remember how much this cost. I hired him to inspect a townhouse that I was buying. He was recommended by my realtor.
