One of the things that impressed me most about John Scanlon was that he was on time or early for every step of the process, from the initial meeting to discuss the estimate, to the final inspection. He listened to our needs and ideas, and offered his ideas to help us finalize our choices, but without pushing his choices on us. He brought a high degree of professionalism to the job, as well as many years of experience. We felt confident in the work that he and his crew provided, and that was confirmed when the inspector pronounced their work on the framing as "beautiful" and commented that "you don't see that high a quality of work very often." They went the extra mile to create a frame that was extra sturdy. When a couple of rails were delivered with small nicks, John immediately called the supplier to get them replaced, not settling for anything less than excellence. He continued to be attentive to our concerns throughout the project, even when we changed our minds a couple of times. The final cost was a little higher than the estimate, but it was due to changes and upgrades that we requested.  They were always respectful of our us, our property, and our neighbors. For example, when they arrived early in the day, they would do the "quiet" parts of their work to get set up before they started with the sawing or hammering. They completed the job in the proposed time frame and were attentive to every detail. We are very satisfied with the final product and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a reliable contractor.
