From the beginning to the end of the project Tony was responsive and helpful. He came to us with great ideas and options showing us pictures of previous work and even took us to two of his job sites. He also came with us to pick out the pavers which I thought was taking customer service above and beyond. The work that was done came out beautiful. From the functionality to the aesthetics everything was done perfectly. My guests/family members were blown away by the work and the transformation of my yard. I have people asking who did the work and I happily refer them. Pleasure to work with which is hard to find among the numerous contractors I've worked with in the past. Highly recommend!

I had asked my neighbor who did her home. She gave me Tony's details. We set up a Saturday appointment and we chatted. The guy is a regular guy, like myself, & so we cut the bs and we were both upfront in terms of what we felt the home needed & what I wanted to pay and budget for. He gave me suggestions, I said I wanted to price it out w. 4 people. He gave me 3 references of work to speak with - even though he was referred by my neighbor originally and I get to see his work every day at her home. I priced the job w. 3 Co.'s. He was a little bit higher than the others. He isn't a lawn guy and this is really the difference. The guy is a design guy. He's not out there cutting grass half the time. He said he would be higher & he explained why. Then, I asked for the other Co.'s referrals and I have to tell you & I visited the homes they sent me too...In the end, I was fine kicking in an extra $2,250 in price to go w. Tony because I could literally see the difference in the work I'd get. Yeah, I want to save $ too (especially after the year I had w. just moving in and all the unplanned expenses) but I didn't want a half assed job either. I was comfortable that he'd give me the best bang for buck....
Fast forward... My wife and I are thrilled. The only one draw back was getting started 1 1/2 weeks later than planned. However, it rained a lot & last I checked - the guy isn't God & he couldn't control that. He has a lot of work and so I waited a few extra days. In the end, well worth it. My wife and I didn't know these people from a whole in the wall...Now, I swear I talk to the guy like a friend. I went out this weekend and saw his name plastered on adverts at Fortune Off in Wayne. The Co. VP apparently had called them & had them do their Corp stuff to showcase their summer furniture outside. Clearly that says something. Go see the work, it's tremendous. Draw back for me now is - my wife wants me to put that in my backyard...aint happening. I will have to wait on that one...I have to stop the bleeding after this year.
All & all I had to post this because I saw his 1 negative post and I will tell you - it originally made me hesitant to use him. My neighbor swore he's nothing like what I read. I was a little scared to use him cause of the 1 bad post. I even told him that after he finished the job. He isn't the social media / internet kind of guy ...so I told him how important this stuff is these days & I told him I'm going to set the record straight on here. He laughed at me and poo pooed it like it was no big deal...& again I told him how important this stuff is & to start asking for reviews. The guy isn't starving for business...so I guess he doesn't get it how the internet & reviews can be that powerful. Anyways, My name is Dave & my wife is Marlana - I know Tony 2 1/2 months now...I live in Nutley & any time you wanna come see my home - ask Tony for the address & pop on by and have a look or knock on my door.. The guy isn't a computer savvy person w. a million posts on here because he's old school & they don't operate that way...and I really don't know what the deal was w. the 1 bad post, but I've learned in my business...You can't make em all happy. To penalize this guy & not use him is silly...the guy does sick work. Come see my home... and see my neighbors home any time. Hope this review helps the guy get even more business, cause they deserve it. You will be happy you read this.
Lastly, Read my email & look at how thorough I am..Do I seem to be the type of person who'd hire a less than stellar person?
Also, as an FYI if you do see my home & we aren't here.. we used Tri State windows for our new windows if you're just moving in & looking for a great window Co...Took me months to find them...In the end...Great product as well. If you stop by you will see that too.

Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of the work performed. The workers seemed to be skilled and the result was good. However, the project was poorly managed by the owner. Many days the workers would show up and work for an hour or two, but then leave because material hadn't arrived. Their boss failed to place the order. So a project expected to be completed in 10 days dragged out to about 5 weeks.  But worst of all, work I paid for was not completed. Specifically, the removal of all the debris was never done. Now, I have about 12 cubic yards of old concrete, pavers, etc piled on my driveway. After numerous phone calls to Tony, I realize he has no intention of coming back to remove the debris. Unfortunately, I paid him in full so my only alternative seems to be to hire another contractor. The reason I paid him in full was he never asked for additional monies beyond the deposit I gave him. I felt he had trusted me, I should be able to trust him to clean up. I guess I should have known better, especially since his workers had told me several times 'he lies to everyone'. BEFORE USING THIS CONTRACTOR PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE NUMBER OF LAWSUITS AND JUDGEMENTS AGAINST HIM.
Response from SPRING GARDEN DESIGNS

"this job came out perfect and the homeowner was praising the quality of the job and manner that it was done, there were many changes to the original job and material did come two days later than we were told it would be delivered, but we were in contact with homeowner at all times, the job did not take five weeks but i guess the homeowner forgot we all got hit with sandy and all roads were not passable to his home, the job was completed with many extras added and when we left we talked about planting in spring, there is also a balanced owed for materials that are still not paid, if anyone would like to see picts of job we do have them, thx"
