Bergen Movers

Horrible!!! 3 hours late, broke my dresser and to top it off they would NOT move my things into the new apartment until I paid them and additional $300 in CASH!!! I tried to call the company and no one has picked up the phone all day. I should have called the police. I will be contacting a lawyer and the BBB .

We packed up my Dad's stuff into around 10 boxes (small and medium ones only).  We also had one chair, lamp, and a small kitchen set that they moved.  They showed up early, and dealt with an irate neighbor who's a blowhard about "the rules" of moving and tried to prevent us from moving my Dad out on a Saturday, which was necessary due to several reasons.  Bergen Movers dealt with the board member in a professional way, and told us about it, which allowed my husband to deal with the idiot while I got my father's few items (and my Dad) moved out.  FYI, there was no damage to any of our items, the elevator or either building moving out or in.  They were very careful and polite.
My only complaint is that they are very expensive as well.  I later found out that other moving companies would have done the same very short-distance and few items move for a lot less money.  I had tried to negotiate with Bergen Movers based on the short distance and few items, but they refused to budge on the price.  I also had to pay in cash, although if it had been a major problem for me, they would have taken a check.  Cash is their preference, so they can pay their guys, he said.

Well, kind of a mixed bag. They were very accomodative, scheduled the move two days before - basically subcontracted to a different company whose truck arrived on time on the date of the move. They didn't bother with a contract and didn't demand payments upon the move, only after full unloading; didn't overcharge for packing materials, which is very common. The movers were very nice. But: the foreman was extremely rude, basically telling my wife off, and complaining that she was interfering with his job while she only asked him to pack the items carefully. They didn't bring enough packing tape, and were carrying unsealed boxes and unwrapped furniture out of the house, wrapping them on the truck. Needless to say, the bedroom set had scratches all over. Pricewise they are pretty high - $120/hr, but they work fast and we wound up paying less that with other movers. Considering the attitude and the damages we suffered, I wouldn't use them again.

Was the easiest move I have ever had. Pleasant, professional, courteous. Arrived on time, took as long as they estimated. No items harmed. They knew just what they were doing and did it well. Years of experience showed.

OVERALL, I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THEM. THEY CAME WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO AND THEY BROUGHT ALONG PLENTY OF HELP. NOTHING WAS BROKEN. THEIR PRICE WASN'T THE CHEAPEST, BUT IT WAS FAIR.
