When I had my walls painted the painters unfortunately got paint on my new refinished floors. I called Thomas Lorentz senior but he was unavailable at the time but his wife answered the phone and was very helpful and assuring. Thomas Lorentz senior immediately called me back with a solution that worked.
I also had a question concerning the wood floors when the work was done and Thomas Lorentz junior came back to my house to see what I was concerned about and answered all of my questions.
This family returns all of your calls and they are truly professional and caring. I am very satisfied and more than pleased with the beautiful job that they have done and I would recommend them to anyone that needs their floors done.
Excellent job guys!!
I have tried two other refinishers over the years but Lorentz seems to be the easiest to work with and I am more pleased after they leave.
"When the estimate was first given it was stated that the floors had air ducts and were damaged and there would be an extra charge for the repairs. The prices for removing the air ducts and weaving in the floor were on the estimate from the beginning so these were not additional but optional. And as stated at the time of the estimate the damaged areas are priced by the square foot. There for the additional price was only $200 not $1900 and the grand total of the job was $2900 not $3600. Also the job was completed in Nov. 2010 not in Dec. 2011. When we or any floor sanding company is hired to sand and finish floors we are not electricians nor plumbers so we could not be expected to disconnect and remove your appliances, because this would require shutting off the gas, electric and water supplies, besides un-wiring and rewiring your dishwasher. This is something again no floor sander will do. So if you just re-molded your kitchen in 2013, anyone could have told you that you would need to redo your floors. The last time your floors were done they were sanded up to the cabinets and appliances there is going to be a sanding lip and a color difference, besides the work be done in the kitchen will scratch the floors. In reference to the wood track for the gliding ladder to the loft, that track was a piece of ½ x ½ pine that needed to be removed to do the repairs. Unfortunately it broke when it was being removed and it was replaced with an oak reducer which not only tapers down to the height of the floor but is the same wood as the floors so it matches in color in looks nicer. As far as the house being empty for us, when we arrived to start work we had to empty furniture and boxes from upstairs and put them out side so the house was not empty as claimed. We did not put any holes in the walls, the house was not in great shape to begin with, and it needed fixing up. We even applied an extra coat of finish at no charge. We were recommended by her mother whom we do a lot of work for, and why did you wait three year to write a poor review?"
