The owner of this company talks a very good game. He claimed that he has done a number of prestigious big jobs with a number of big clients. I was a little worried that since mine was a smaller job, I might get lost in the shuffle. But he promised me beautiful copper Yankee gutters and assured me that the repair work on my porch could be done within a month. The initial repair work took over two months. And the first time it rained, I discovered three separate leaks that were still unaddressed. Over the next ten months, I attempted to reach him on numerous occasions to finish the work. He was difficult to get on the phone. When I finally could reach him, time and again, he made verbal promises to finish the job. On more than six occasions, we scheduled appointments to complete the repairs. And on each of these occasions, he failed to show up. No phone call, no email, just never made it. I lost time from work on these days. During a subsequent phone call to address the problem, he actually yelled at me, telling me that if I wasn't happy I should just sue him. Then he hung up on me. Very professional. Ten months later, in June of 2011, I wrote his company a letter telling them I would seek legal action if the repairs were not finished within fourteen days. The next morning, his assistant was calling me and scheduling an appointment for that same week. His crew came to finish the repairs. Here we are three months later and I still have the same leaks. I am currently looking for another solution and prepared to begin legal action against this company. In short: European Copper Specialists' responsiveness and punctuality is terrible. They are difficult to pin down for an appointment. Their work is not thorough and the owner's demeanor on the phone borders on abusive. I would not recommend them.
