There was a slight problem understanding the dispatcher when calling for info about the service due to his accent. He quoted a price of $72.85 one-way which included tax and tip.
The driver was courteous, prompt and professional.
There was a problem with the amount charged on the credit card, though, $79.20 instead of $72.85 on the return trip. A call to the office resulted in a quick refund, but there was no apology and there seemed to be no surprise that there was an issue with an incorrect amount.
"First of all the fare from scotch plain to EWR is $55.00 plus tip never ever been $45.00 even 10 years ago Second when (Member name removed) call he did not say that his family size'll never fit a Lincoln town car , so they need a SUV which is more mony $85.00 plus tip and that"s what happens So , I just want to ask him why he did not canceled his reservation on his way back from the airport and call another car service The answer , he could find a price less than our price for his family with a lot of bags Thank you"
The day prior to my pickup on 4/15, I received no call, and so I called to confirm the pickup. The individual I spoke to was very professional and confirmed my pickup. I was picked up in the morning and taken to the airport at which time my card was swiped - all said, certainly an adequate service.
I did inquire on more than once occasion, how the pickup on arrival would be handled. Specifically, as I carry-on my luggage, I prefer meeting the driver at the airport in front of a designated door in order to expedite my trip. I was advised that I would have a text message with the driver's number when I landed (this is not unusual). However, when I landed there was no message, so I had to call the company to verify that the driver was there to pick me up. I was informed that I would receive a call from the driver. When he called he told me he didn't want to bother me with a text message as soon as I landed, so he was waiting and was just about to contact me -- REALLY?
Ok, now we head to my job and when we arrive I present my credit card. The driver, after a bit advises me that my card was denied - "Not Likely". However, what he failed to tell me was that he inadvertently put through a charge for approxmimately $6,700 instead of $67 and then immediately tried to put in a second charge for the correct amount, which triggered fraud alerts on the credit card. I had to give him another card but didn't know about his error because he was not honest with me. I did find out within minutes as I received phone calls and text messages from the fraud department of my credit card.
The experience left me irritated and not comfortable with the integrity of the driver which reflected on my decision not to continue using this company.
Both drivers, to and from the airport, were courteous, professional, and on time.
