I'm using them for years and they are pretty good,

Our relationship with JML started great. The workers did good work and the manager Michael DeFillipo was great. He was very responsive and very easy to work with. Then came the "incident." There was some issue and the owner, John Lazorchak came over to resolve it. My was talking to him. He got extremely hostile and vulgar, using the F-word, blaming us for the mix-up. He finally called his office and learned the problem was on their end. Lazorchak gave us a very lame, half-hearted apology. DeFillipo came by the next day after hearing about it and said not to worry, he would be taking care of us. Things went well until the fall. There was no fall cleanup. We called them twice and never heard from them. I figured it would be straightened out on the spring. In the spring we received a form letter saying they were not servicing any residential customers. We called three times for an explanation. Lazorchak was not professional enough to answer us. AND, we saw them servicing a residential customer around the corner from our home. So, even though they did excellent work, and DeFillipo was a very good manager, as long as Lazorchak runs the company I would be very hesitant to use them.

I really like them. That's why I keep using them throughout the year. The quality of their work was very good. They're extremely busy. It's hard to get them scheduled right away. You have to wait for them because they're so good.

John's crew has done a beautiful job of updating our landscaping. We have employed his company since this Spring on several projects from new landscape lighting and repair, as well as major landscaping projects. After Hurricane Sandy, we lost many trees. He designed new landscaping for these spaces and updated other areas that had become overgrown. He has a crew devoted to irrigation and addressed some issues we had with the irrigation system. He is so easy to talk to, has great ideas and he returns calls or responds to emails promptly. He cares about his customers!

A few months after the job was completed the patio began to shift and a few plants had died. They replaced the plantings without issue. We did have an issue getting someone back to correct the paver patio issue. It took 2 weeks and many phone calls before the issue was resolved (remember our house was on the market at this time). We are now settling into our new house and I contacted JML for lawn and fertilization service. Laura said she didn't think they were taking on any new customers when i spoke with her on August 22, 2012. She said she would check and call me back. Never got a return call, so I called back this morning. They are not taking on any new customers is what I was told. REALLY!!!! After spending over $5K, I'm a new customer?!?! Absolutely ridicoulous!!!!

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a service provider. John, the owner, was pleasant, prompt, creative and efficient.
A neighbor had a patio and landscaping which I admired done by JML. The neighbors spoke very highly of the service they received and so I called JML for a consultation. John came to discuss the project with me several times. He was always on time, always courteous and always attentive. He asked questions about my preferences and ideas and we took a lot of time discussing possibilities. John soon called to set up an appointment and returned with a detailed plan and ideas for plantings. The plan reflected my preferences along with his suggestions based on the realities of the project. His crew always arrived on time on the promised dates, were respectful and neat. The job was done quickly and perfectly including the fact that I called him about a step that was a bit too deep. John himself appeared within hours of my call and supervised the adjustment which was ingenious and looks great. I've had the patio for about ten months and enjoy it more every day.
I recently called JML to report that one of the plants didn't look well and also to ask about the best way to remove grease stains from the new pavers. Two days later John e-mailed me to tell me he had stopped by that day to check on the plant and the grease stains. He gave me information about cleaning the pavers and said he will continue to stop by to check on the plant and will replace it if necessary.
I was delighted and astonished that any service provider would respond to a call so quickly and with a personal visit.
Soon after my patio was completed a near neighbor admired it and called JML for a consultation but then decided to go with a cheaper estimate from another company. Their project was supposed to take 2 weeks but, in fact, began in early May and after repeated delays with un-returned calls, half-day work days and other problems, it was completed in late July. They are not completely happy with the results but are so frustrated and tired they say they are glad to just have it done. (It actually still isn't totally ready). Needless to say, they regret not having had JML do the work which would have been far superior as well as being done on time.
I can not find words enough to adequately praised John and the work his company did for me. I spent a number of years in helping consumers right wrongs and fight poor quality and inadequate service so I have deep respect and admiration for providers who do it right. JML has my highest regard.

The experience is pretty good! They do a good job.
