I went there with a fueling problem where you could not put more than a half tank in before it would refuse all gas at the nozzle; however, after spending about $950, that problem is still not fixed. He replaced a part he thought would fix the problem but it did not and the part I needed is no longer available from Jaguar. For my $950, I got my spark plugs replaced, headlight bulb replaced, and a piece of trim glued back on. Also a new battery. I wasn't having any symptoms prior to the visit, but now it does not even hold a charge according to them. I needed my headlights aligned but I guess with everything, that was overlooked.
Back to my original fueling issue... I have found the part online. It is a charcoal canister. Car port quoted me $500 to install with no guarantees because they can't attest to the quality of the part. The last part is reasonable but I need to get more quotes on the installation part to know if that is reasonable.
I dropped the car off and almost a whole week goes by with no word. I called to see if he has gotten to it, to give me a quote. I think he was swamped with work so I was patient. Kind of wish that was taken into consideration before telling me when I can drop the car off. I think the car was with them for 2 weeks.
Will I go back? I don't know. It's not their fault the part is not available but he did put in a part prior to that that didn't fix the problem. Should he have known that? I don't know but it was a costly experiment. I also don't know about the battery. An additional $200 expense I had not counted on because it coincidentally died in his shop. My boyfriend said to replace it regardless because at least it will be a fresh battery for the winter.
Looks like I need to find a Jaguar repair person closer to me anyway - they probably won't want to see my face after this review.
