Worked with Greg the manager (although there seem to still be several generations of Maxwells still operating the business!). The quote was competitive with another refinisher and their work was splendid. Once the piece was stripped and repaired they had me come in to discuss how to treat the different veneers on the piece since it was all hidden under blackened shellac previously. The care and love these folk have for antique furniture showed through every step of the way, from quote to delivery. I cannot speak to their speed or timelines since I intentionally had them do the work at a snail's pace while we finished renovations. I really appreciated that they were willing to keep this very large sideboard in their shop for more than six months. I didn't realize until halfway through this project that they have a stockpile of furniture of great quality in an adjacent building that they would be happy to restore or reupholster to your specifications so they are also somewhat of an antique shop as well.

They do great work and are a bit more expensive. It took a little longer than we thought but they are very good at what they do.

Great, they assessed the furniture and did just what they said. Without completely stripping the furniture which would have been very expensive they did an 80% job with which we are 100% satisfied.

Called them to refinish my lacquer dining chairs and table top, but decided to buy new chairs instead. Also asked them to fix the tray which they did. Will have them refinish the table top when the chairs come, to match the color.

My dog chewed the corners of a piano bench. Don provided an estimate to replace the wooden top of the bench with a new mahogany top. Although I was willing to pay the price he quoted, he then came up with the idea to create an upholstered bench top which was considerably less expensive and a better option overall. I was very pleased with his creative approach and the bench turned out great.

They did a flawless job. I'm going to have them come clean some of my grandmothers kitchen chairs and table.

THEY WERE RESPONSIVE AND THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THEY REPAIRED THE MIRROR AND CHAIR JUST RIGHT. IT WAS DONE WHEN THEY SAID IT WOULD BE DONE. THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS.
