TABOR CLEANERS

AWFUL!!! I can't believe that this can happen and they can just get away with what they did. But since they have not made any effort to rectify the situation I have no choice but to use this forum to tell everyone to  AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Here's the story. I took my sweater to be cleaned. The sweater was a well-made sweater purchased at LORD and TAYLOR. IT had 3 buttons on both sides under the arms going down. It was poncho style. My husband picked my sweater up. I had planned to wear it to a school function in a few hours. I put it on only to discover that 5 of the buttons were gone. GONE!!! Then I saw that one of the buttons that was still there was not the dark chocolate brown color that it was, but a white button that looked like it had been MELTED. And to make matters worse it has some strange kind of hair on it from what looked like maybe a cat or dog. YUCK!!!!! My favorite sweater ruined, $120 dolllars down the drain, and nothing to wear with only a half hour before the school function was to begin. So, my husband went marching right back. Here's what they said. The brand of sweater has a "known button issue." HAHAHA. So, is she saying she knew about the buttons possibly melting but cleaned the sweater anyway? Not sure what she meant by that. Because if she knew then why didn't she refuse to clean it, or warn me before? BECAUSE THERE IS NO KNOWN BUTTON ISSUE. AND...I'm not sure how that matters considering the fact that I came in with all buttons in tact, and now I left with one button that was half melted with hair stuck to it. Basically, the buttons were probably melting, and they did not bother to care for my sweater by covering the buttons or working around them as other cleaners do. She said she would not pay for the sweater, and did not offer me ANYTHING. She then proceeded to tell me to go to the "Rag shop" and get some buttons and they would sew them on and that that was the best they would do. OH AND BY THE WAY....she did not even refund me for the cleaning bill for the sweater!!! She did not even apologize or seem sorry. And, keep in mind that we came home with the item. They never said a word to us when we picked it up about the melted buttons. Did they think I wouldn't notice that the sweater was completely ruined? You can bet that every time I'm picking up a pizza at Tabor's I will stop every person that walks into this shop and tell them my story. I'm sure I'm not the first person this has happened to and know I won't be the last! Dishonest business!!! DONT GO HERE!
