Back in 1963, Frank and Maria Ceglia bought their first Service Station, on the corner of Tabor Rd. and State Hwy 10, with the premise to provide friendly and realiable automotive service to the surrounding area. They achieved it far beyond their expectations. It soon became a fixture and landmark in Morris Plains. Many changes in auto repair have occurred throughout 45 years of business, but even though Frank and Maria have passed on, their values still remain. Though we have recently moved on from our humble beginnings, our commitment has not changed. In fact, our new facility is more equipped to provide you with better service. They are always professional, they call with the estimate before doing the work, the prices are reasonable and the vehicle is almost always ready when processed. Really friendly, and they are good about giving you a picture of the urgency level of the service (i.e., what needs to be done now vs what can wait until later).

I was satisfied with that, I thought that they were prompt and courteous, they did a good job and they were careful and advised me well on what work was needed.
They found some issues and fixed them and really recommended, they found a issue that really needed to be repaired that I was not aware of and made me aware that and fixed it.

We had just moved to the area and my brake pedal started feeling "soft". I went to Morris Plains Automotive based on the Angie's List reviews, and was very happy with the service. They replaced worn pads and a bent rotor for a reasonable price. They called to let me know what was wrong and how much it would be. The car was ready when they said it would be. We have since had my husband's car in there for other issues (I believe it was brake related as well) and received the same good service. Everything was fixed without further problems. I would definitely recommend them.

My brake pedal was feeling "squishy" and the rear wheel had developed an intermittent squeal. I was able to call on Thursday afternoon and get the vehicle in on Monday morning. They were very pleasant and professional. They called with the estimate on the repairs, and were able to complete them the same day. When I picked up the van, I got to talking with the lady at the desk (whose name, unfortunately, is escaping me now) about being new to the area. She gave me advice on a couple of things and even dug up a brochure about community activities. It's been 2 weeks, and no further problems. Highly recommended.

Summary: Morris Plains Automotive (MPA) is a trustworthy shop and they take pride in the services they provide. I would recommend MPA to everyone because they don't try to push services or unnecessary repairs. Tony from MPA talked me through my repair options and in the end we decided to hold off on any immediate actions. I'm sure he spent several hours performing diagnostic work on my SUV, but he didn't charge me at all. Honest people providing great service, that's MPA.
Details: I reached out to MPA via email over the weekend and first thing Monday morning I got a response from Tony. I expected that I would have to make an appointment and wait for several days, but Tony said I could come by any time that worked for me and, if needed, I could drop the car off at night using their night drop box. I choose to leave it Monday evening using the night drop box which was easy and secure. Tony called me on Tuesday at noon time to explain what he found and provide some recommendations. First, we talked about the front differential leak and he confirmed that it was coming from a seal that needed to be replaced. He then said something that I totally wasn't expecting. He said that the repair work that was needed was not something he normally handles and I should go to a transmission specialist. It was refreshing to hear such honesty from an auto repair shop and he recommended another local shop where I could take my vehicle. We then talked about the second problem with the squeaky pulley. The problem had been happening all winter but with my luck the problem didn't happen when Tony was looking at it. Nevertheless, he spent time searching for where the sound could be coming from and found a possible cause from the tensioner pulley. Tony recommended that we not replace anything right now, but when the squeak comes back that I just stop in and he can check it out while it's happening. The end result from our conversation was that MPA would not need to perform any work right now. Tony said I could come by and pick up my car any time and there would be no charge for the work he performed. I was shocked that there was no charge because I know he must have spent 2 - 3 hours doing diagnostic work. Tony explained that he runs the shop just like his parents and grandparents would have done it and that building trust with his customers is how he ensures future business. I would trust MPA for all my future automotive repair needs and will be sure to recommend them to my friends and family.

I needed a car service shop near me and found them on Angie's List. First impression - felt comfortable leaving my car with Anthony. He was very responsive and repairs were done in a timely fashion. I will be using this shop again in the near future. Very satisfied with service.

What they did seemed to be all perfect. I did not want to take it to the local garage that I have used for oil changes. They seem to be more professional. I like them. They did a good job. I am going to hire them again to look at another car that has been sitting for 2 years, and I haven't totally gone over and made some repairs on. The receptionist is topnotch. When I call up, she remembers everything about me. I talked to her about this one car that I was thinking of having some major work done on it, and then I called her back 3 months later. She remembered every detail. The owner is obviously there for a long time. If she gets busy when I get in touch, she calls me back. They are very, very responsive in that regard. Being an Audi, I don't know what to expect. It was probably more than what I wanted to pay for a general American car, but I don't really know whether their pricing was good, average, or whatever. I was okay with it. It's a really nice car and it was just sitting idle. They did a lot of work. They had to put in 4 new tires, 4 sets of brakes and rotors so that is a pretty good price, I guess. The quality of work was very good.

There was a noise in front end of my Chrysler T&C van. I went on Angie's List and found Morris Plains Automotive ( MPA).
Setting up appointments is easy. I called in the morning to set up appointment, dropped off the car 3PM Tuesday. They called me the next morning to tell me how much it would cost, and that it would be ready the same day.
The work was completed about 10am next morning and I picked up my van at 11am.
I had purchased links with the intent to do it myself. I provided the bar links and they provided the labor, it worked out great.
Saved me money by advising against replacing sway bar bushing.
A good, clean place, did a good job. It was great. It was a good experience.
The cost was fair. The place is convenient off Route 10. I will be going back to MPA for all my auto repairs.

I give them A+ for professionalism, service, and price. Thanks to their service, I am staying very cool in my car during the heat wave.
Tony runs a great shop. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I have a 2001 Honda Accord with 111,000 miles and a 2002 Accord with 135,000 miles. Having Tony and his mechanics for service, I know I can count on keeping my cars for years to come.

The owner is very nice and responsive. I have used this shop for several years and they stand by there work. I had my Honda accord ball joint fixed there. After driving for a few days, the problem seemed to reappear. I brought it back and fixed the problem for no charge. The owner was very apologetic and explained why there was a problem (none of which was his fault). The car ran fine after that

They looked at the list that Madison Honda gave me, the main item was a power steering pump which honda wanted to charge me ~$1800 for. Morris Plains Auto, used original honda parts and did it for 1/3 the price!! They found a few things that honda missed, and crossed a few things off Honda's list which they said were misdiagnosed. My car is running great, and I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks MPA!!

I had a tire that had a nail in it and was leaking air. Morris Plains Automotive is close to my office so I figured I could drop it off in the morning and pick it up later in the day. I made an appointment and they brought my car in right away. I was out the door in less than 20 minutes and they even equaled the pressure on my other tires. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the waiting area, professionalism of the receptionist and mechanic, and overall ease of the process. I plan to use them for all my service needs in the future.

I thought that they were very honest mechanics and very accommodating. It is a new shop and very clean, and a lot of cars are being serviced there. The staff is great. The owner is the head mechanic and he is a real professional.
