 + -1 moreThe work was good and the price was fine. The communication was poor. They started the job and did not come back for a week and a half. We could not get an answer or response from them. The work was fine but the time was too long. They do good work but you better stay on top of the manager.

 + -1 moreWe called Gemstar on less than a week's notice because we realized we'd be out of the house for a few days and it would be convenient to get the place painted at the same time. Pat showed up at 10am sharp (as scheduled) to take measurements and recommend a color since we were still undecided. His guys showed up, moved the furniture, covered everything, painted multiple coats, cleaned up and were done with the job in 2 days. The entire thing took less than a week from the initial phone call to completion. Overall, a positive experience!
Description of Work: Gemstar repainted our living room and dining room from darker colors to linen white with white molding to brighten up the rooms since we get little direct sunlight. They also repainted the fireplace mantle in a more durable oil-based paint.

 + -1 moreSo the guys showed up Tuesday and started right in on the job. They did a *phenomenal* job, the house looks *amazing* now. It's really shocking how a little thing like painting the trim on a brick house can make a huge difference.
Description of Work: I needed the trim on my brick house repainted, as well as the cedar shingles on my dormers cleaned/oiled, and some new wood put in during my last project (new windows on my front porch). I saw Patrick's truck driving around, and decided to give them a call, since they're local. He came out right away, and we discussed options and what I wanted to accomplish. His guys came out, and in three days got everything looking amazing . I inherited my house from my parents, and my Dad never did anything like paint the trim or oil the cedar shingles, so the cedar had turned black with mold, and the trim looked nasty with the old caulk pulling off the seams and such. I had a quote by the end of business, and I felt very confident that Patrick knew what he was doing. I got two other quotes, one of which tried to convince me I needed new cedar shingles, no really, I needed new cedar shingles, seriously, I couldn't get them cleaned. (Yeah, ok.)
