CJ did a wonderful job for us. We're thrilled with the results on a difficult bathroom remodel to fix past sins of previous owners. There was a tight window to get all the work completed and CJ came through for us. His input was also important and trusted his judgement and suggestions. I'll be hiring him for many more jobs in the future!

I cannot be happier with CJ's service. The end result is night and day. He optimized the kitchen space. The bathroom came up incredible. The price is right. We are hiring him again for the main house kitchen renovation.

We recently moved into Asbury Park and had no contractors we had previously used to draw on. We contacted Kromer and received a prompt call back. Estimator arrived on time. It was early December and we needed the work done by Christmas. The work was completed ahead of schedule. We wanted crown molding and three bedrooms and hallways painted. The contractor also suggested a solution to a crowded bathroom situation and installed a pocket door. We are very pleased with the door. Workmanship was excellent and the cleanup was done well!

Contacted by email on 10/3. He answered by email on 10/4 and I gave him job info and phone #. He didn't call. On 10/6 he claimed online to have had stomach issue and would call 10/7. He never called. I emailed again. Never heard back from him. I emailed again on 10/11 and told him I would write a review, but he never responded.

Very slow service.  They were in for a week out for a week.  Had to continuously call to make sure things were getting done.  A year later one of the tiles in the kitchen broke.  The super ended up fixing it because CJ would be so slow to respond.  The super told me that the floor underneath was so badlly done he had to redo it.  I made sure that the super and the coop board were aware of of his poor service.

We dealt with the owner CJ Kromer who was highly professional, courteous, and trustworthy. He has good taste and helped us coordinate colors. We trusted him with doing work on our house while we were away on vacation. CJ takes pride in his work and his relationship with his customers. We appreciated his workmanship and his attention to details. We love the way everything turned out. We would definitely use him again for future projects. And we would highly recommend him to all our friends.

Kromer Contracting gave us our dream basement. From start to finish CJ and his crew acted as if this was their own home. Meticulous and courteous every step of the way. Everything came out even better than expected. Would certainly hire for my next project!

The basement is phenomenal. It's really part of the house. We couldn't be happier with it.
My wife and i have never done so much laundry... the laundry room is so nice and a pleasure to be in, we don't mind doing load after load of laundry. CJ installed cabinets and a countertop that we had purchased in the laundry room. It's so nice and clean feeling.
The highlights in my opinion were:

LED recessed lights
very nice trim around the columns, like shaker style.
slop sink
great sheetrock work
We made some changes/upgrades along the way. The upgrades were only like an extra 3-5% of the estimate which is low. Seems most work ends up being 15% more.
We subsequently put in carpet and it's just perfect. It's almost as nice as the rest of the house.
CJs. trim work and sheet rock work is second to none. after all that's what the consumer sees at the end.
I know he used all top quality materials along the way.

Best contractor I have ever used. Stayed on the job until completion. Texted me every night to see if I was satisfied with the progress. Offered to repaint for free when I didn't like the paint color that I had chosen. The quality is superb and his suggestions were right on. This is a great contractor and I have very high standards. Would recommend without hesitation.

Kromer Contracting did a great job.  Everything came out consistent with our high expectations.  
The tile experts are top notch, just nice guys and take pride in their work.  Our first floor tile was a big job (like 600+ square feet).  We are very happy with it.
CJ copes all his crown molding so the seams are great.  We basically have no splitting/cracking even though the temperature went below zero this winter.  And he is so efficient with it.   I watched him to my dining room perfectly and I don't think it took an hour. 

When all is said and done in a project, the sheet rock and the trim quality is key, and in our bathroom it was perfect.   CJ Kromer is quite a master with plaster (rhyme unintentional).  The walls look great.  The trim couldn't be straighter, the pocket door glides smoothly.
We did a lot of work to our house and had to move out for a while with two babies.  We were also impacted by Hurricane Sandy.  It was critical that timelines were met for us to keep our sanity.  We met with CJ to discuss this and went over the calendar and low and behold we were back in the house right when we targeted.  He moved his schedule around to accommodate us and that was very helpful.
CJ was happy to help us find some other professional (for instance floor refinishing).  We were very happy with that referral.  Quality was excellent and price was fine. 
I am happy to refer CJ Kromer to anyone doing interior work to their home and want high quality and at a fair price.  My sister and some of my neighbors have hired him and  are very happy.  Make no mistake about it, you get what you pay for. 
Lastly, just from a comfort perspective, I feel totally at ease with CJ at my house either when no one is home or just my girls are home.  That is huge.  My wife feels the same way.   CJ is responsive to texts and phone calls whenever. 

I have been using Kromer contacting since 2010 for all my home improvement needs, from complete bathroom remodel, tile floor and back splash installation in my kitchen to the most recent bamboo flooring and baseboard installation in my living room. Next project on the list is a 2nd bathroom total remodel, with Kromer Contracting. Honest and fair, never do I wonder or worry about being ripped off. Quality, never did I have to question him or speak to him regarding my satisfaction during a project or at its completion, this also goes for his subcontractors. Availability and accessiblity, never did I have to chase him for a return call and when subcontractors were used he always would be there at the start and check on progress and the final product. Approachable, being a single woman I never felt intimated to ask my many question, always willing to explain, never made to feel a bother and would offer suggestions and help with decisions needed to be made. As most projects go there always is something unforeseen but Kromer Contracting was always able to deal with whatever came up and stay on track with completion.

CJ Kromer is an excellent contractor. He went with me to select kitchen cabinets and suggested how to move the dishwasher and sink to get more cabinet space. He personally installed the kitchen cabinets and had professional subcontractors who did the plumbing, painting and tile installation under his direction. He made sure that everything was done to my complete satisfaction. He was always prompt, courteous and professional. I recommend him highly.
