Hunter Door Service, Inc. is an established family owned and operated company with 50 years of experience providing garage doors, garage door openers and entry doors to homeowners and builders in New Jersey. We provide excellent service through a professional, trained staff at a competitive price. We are a licensed NJ Home Improvement Contractor (License 13VH00794100), International Door Association Accredited and a member of the Builders League of South Jersey. We provide free in-home estimates for garage door and entry door replacements as well as prompt professional service for all repairs. We also welcome you to stop into our showroom for information or to pick up parts for a do-it-yourself project. We are here to help!

Installation went very smoothly. There was definitely some miscommunication regarding the billing however. The tech said the service would be $569 installed plus a charge for the springs. The springs we had in place, we were told, were the wrong ones. We mentioned that they had installed them several years ago but we had to pay for new ones anyway. We did get a 30 dollar discount on them though. Total bill was over $700 when we expected it to be 569 plus the springs. No mention of the amount of a service charge. Warranty is only for one year. The door works fine and the tech was fine too, just feel we were overcharged.

The sales representative, Max, never showed up for the initial consultation. I called him about half an hour after our scheduled appointment, and he had clearly forgotten that we had an appointment. Max came later that afternoon, and I chalked it up to a misunderstanding. A couple of weeks later, when my husband and I were ready to order the door, we had an appointment with Max at our house between 4:00 and 4:30. We never heard from him until he showed up at about 5:10 with nothing but a glib comment about it being Friday. My husband and I, who both work and both rearranged our schedules to meet with him, were apparently supposed to think that it's reasonable to keep a customer waiting without a word for forty minutes because it's Friday. I told Max to get out and called Hunter the following week to see if they had another sales rep. (We wanted to patronize them because they are a local company but didn't want to deal with Max.) The person who answered said that one of the owners could take orders and said that they would get back to us. We never heard from them. Maybe Hunter does good work, but it's surprising that they ever get that far, considering how they treat customers.

This was A+ service all around. We got a call back about an hour after leaving a message on Hunter's website. We scheduled for the following day and the technician was right on time. We had a broken spring. He reviewed that our 31 year old door needed more than the broken spring replaced, and recommended replacing the original (and worn out) cables, springs and pulleys, and to have safety cables installed. He did the job in about 45 minutes, then reviewed everything in detail with my husband, including what we should do to maintain the equipment. We think $270 is an excellent price for a quality job. And he did not try to sell us a new door or anything extra!

I would highly recommend Hunter Garage Door Services. As I was opening up my garage door to go to work, I heard a noise and noticed that the spring on the door was no longer attached to the pulleys. I did call several door repair companies and was not happy with them. These companies either put you on hold and/or you spoke to a computer or they would not give you any information without you giving them your full name and phone number or would not give you a price until they would come out even though I told them the issue. None of the above happened when I called Hunter Garage Door. Hunter Garage Door answered right away, did not put me on hold and scheduled my appointment that day working with me to accommodate my work hours. Eric, the repair person, had called ahead of time to give me the precise time he was going to be at my house. Eric was knowledgeable, explained everything and gave great customer service. He reviewed my entire system, made helpful suggestions, cleaned up the area of work and showed me when and how to maintain my doors and the entire system. I was very impressed and would nominate Eric to be the star repair person of the year. I will definitely use Hunter Garage Door Services again and ask for Eric.

I have looked into your particular appointment and it was confirmed to me that you were not called by our driver. He did arrive at your home half an hour late. Took a while from order to install, wrong size storm door was ordered initially, so door had to be exchanged, one screen was bent so had to be exchanged. Eventually all worked out and we were happy with the products and the work that was done.

The installer called about an hour prior to the scheduled install to clarify a mistake in the address. He arrived early, worked efficiently and quietly, and finished before the estimated time for completion. The new openers work very well, and this was well worth the expense.

Perfect      someone was there to answer when we called         made appt  for next day. We had to cancel made appt for another day,  Showed up on time        did the job, and actually the door is working better than before the problem   Was oiled and is much more quiet,   Price very fair.

Estimate was given quickly and when we called back to say we were ready to order a door someone came right over with the contract and estimated install date. Door was ready to install a week early and we were very happy with the installation. We will be calling this company back to install an automatic opener as well as a new front entry door. Very happy!
