Arrived on time. All staff friendly and professional. Responsive to any questions or concerns that I had.
Line was quite deep and water table high, so quite a muddy job for them. Took 3 days to complete.
Kept the plumbing in house working as needed. Cleaned up yard and replaced grass.
Have also used this company for repairs inside the house. Always easy to reach and set up appointments.

Albert Ellis, Inc. replaced my mothers forced air heater with a top of the line Bryant 95% efficient unit on 12-2-10.
About 13 days later she heard a funny noise coming from the heater, upon inspection she realized it was the humidifier that was making the noise so she unplugged it. Then she called me to check it out.
Here is what I found:
They Did not install a switched outlet for the existing humidifier, (this was how it was wired when they installed the previous Bryant heater over 10 years ago) (instead they plugged it in to the outlet for the condensate pump that is on all the time, as a result the humidifier ran 24/7 until the motor over heated and started making noise!
I also called Aprilaire, the mfg of this humidifier. They confirmed that their humidifier should be plugged into a switched outlet or wired so that it will only run when the heater runs and to let them know if Albert Ellis, Inc. (their dealer) didn’t make it right.
Then I Called Bryant they also said if Albert Ellis, Inc. didn’t correct the faulty installation that I could open a case against them and they would investigate it.
So far I have not done that but will take that action very soon if they don’t
When I first called (12-15-10) they tried to tell me in so many words I didn’t know what I was talking about. They said they would send some one out to look at it. No one came. So on (12-28-10) I called again and they did send some one out, as of 1-5-11 she has heard nothing. My mother also called a few times.
Up Date:
A service man from Ellis finally came out at the end of January to correct the wiring.
Instead of wiring in a switched 110 volt outlet they ran a switched 24 volt line to the humidifier’s control unit located in the return air duct. (this is what they should have done when they replaced the heater.)
The unit ran fine for a few days then started making the same noise; my mom called them up but has heard nothing since!
I called Aprilaire on 2-8-11 and was told that if they got 2 more complaints’ like mine they would drop Albert Ellis, Inc. web site from theirs.
If I had not inspected this issue for my mom she (and most customers that are not familiar with HVAC systems) would have call the installer and said my new heater is making a funny noise. The installer would come out and say gee Mrs. or Mr. Customer, you need a new humidifier! That will be around $ 700.00 installed! Who knows if the installer would quietly correct the incorrect wiring when they installed the new humidifier or not!
Yes this humidifier is old but I had oiled the motor last year and it was running fine and VERY quite. These humidifiers are very well built here in the USA and known to run for many years if properly maintained and installed.
The replacement heater my mother bought from Albert Ellis, Inc. cost $4000.00 dollars installed!
There response to our complaint is terrible!
Installing a top of the line Bryant heater and incorrectly wiring an existing humidifier is completely inexcusable as is their response to our complaints!
At this point I want Albert Ellis, Inc. to replace the Aprilaire model 445 with a new equal model like the 600!
3-2011 Update:
My mother has since called another HVAC Co and had a new humidifier installed at a cost of around $600.00. She was also told by this installer that the PVC vent pipes did not need to be replaced at additional charge just more make work…
She said she would never use Albert Ellis, Inc. again.
I called Aprilaire on 3-18-11, They said they would notify their “DSM” District Sales Manager to let them know of my complaint.
I also called Bryant and filed my complaint with them.
Maybe if they at least admitted some fault and said look we screwed up, your humidifier is old so we will install one for 50% off or some thing to take care of a customer that just spent $ 4000.00 on a new heater! But no, nothing but a run around for a customer (my mom) that has been using them for many years.
