Roofing
They have a great business model. Home Depot manages the entire project and they follow up. They make sure the job is done right. They guaranteed the work. They are also real professional. I actually had another vendor who does major roofing and they were very compatible in price. The roof has been great. They did a great job. They did the whole roof within five days. Everything was cleaned. They came on time. Home Depot has followed up. About two years ago, there was a small leak and immediately they sent somebody out. They not only fixed it because it was just a nail that punctured the covering or something, but they also paid for any damage. We use them for almost everything like they did our kitchen. They did our air conditioner and heating units. They’ve done window replacement for us. They installed new rugs and installed a marble floor. Now, I’m having some bathroom work done with them.

This was the worst installation I have ever had. Contractor shows up and next thing I know there is a girlfriend there talking to him out of the blue in my house (not an HD employee or contractor). At this point I was a bit concerned but figured if his work was good then no issues but obviously if his work wasn't good this was going to compound things.
The base cabinets were installed way out of square (over 1/2" from back to front wall). Also top cabinets were installed too low for scribe moulding to cover the top gap and also not square. Contractor came back and screwed up the job a second time and ended up firing the subcontractor and was ready to sue HD at this point as their store personnel were less than helpful.
Management from the subcontract firm came out and tried to play me for the dumb homeowner and tried to tell me the work was good (what they were smoking is beyond me) and I took a square and level our of my tools and pointed out the major deficiencies.
They sent out three guys now to fix the screw up of the 1st guy and it turned out mediocre and still ended up damaging the drywall. I should have sued them that is how bad this was and when the problem was pointed out Home Depot and their contractor and contractor mgmt were the worst people to deal with.
Almost made the mistake of using Home Depot to have a patio door installed and their installer didn't show up for the estimate on the scheduled day and when they did gave me zero confidence. Looked up their subcontractor on the Better Business Bureau and they were rated a "F".
My business is now very limited after some very bad experiences here in the local area with HD.

Carpet Installation
The sales process was fine because I knew what I wanted, we just had to work on the price and that was it. My experience with the salesman was average. Everything with the installers went very well. They were very quick, it’s a small room. I didn’t know when they were coming; they just showed up on my door. I would use them again.

If you talk to the right people at The Home Depot, then they would know as to what they are talking about. They cleaned up. They were very neat. I went in and told them that I wanted the carpet to be installed. They scheduled someone to come out and measure for the carpet within two or three days. It took fourteen days for the carpet to come in. Two days after they had scheduled the installation, they were there and they installed the carpet. It was very quick. There was no lapse in time or anything like that. I had checked out the prices in a couple of other places and they were in the middle of the road. They were there at the time they said that they would be. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

They did a good job. They showed up on time and were very neat. They worked on all the windows and their prices were good. They had a little communication problem, which they soon straightened out.

They came out to give an estimate and at that time told me that I had to have 5 windows minimum. Otherewise there was a $200 surcharge. They could have told me that before coming out. I did not give them the job.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB FINDING THE DOORS THAT I WANTED. THEY CAME IN, REPLACED THE DOORS AND THEY TOOK MY OLD DOORS TO DISPOSE OF THEM. THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE AND WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO BE LATE, THEY CALLED TO LET ME KNOW.

IN THE BEGINNING IT WAS FINE. BUT THEN THEY DROPPED THE BALL ON THINGS. OUR CABINETS BEGAN TO BREAK AND IT TOOK THEM A WHILE TO RESPOND FOR THAT CALL. THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO GIVE US CREDIT, BUT IT TOOK THEM FIVE MONTHS TO GIVE THAT TO US.
