What a tremendous job. Alex's crew painted the exterior of my house and garage, painted two rooms inside, and did carpentry repairs on the front porch. Everything is beautiful. They came when promised, worked long days for a week, and showed up on Saturday to finish the job. All the while, they seemed concerned only with getting things done just the way I wanted them. I couldn't have asked for more. I have been looking for a contractor like this for years, and I'm already making a list of more work that I need to hire Alex back for.

Please do not hire Alex contracting. They are THE worst roofer in New Jersey in ALL aspects. I hired Alex and his team back in october 2023 initially for a leak in my roof. He came and gave a consultation, looked at my roof and diagnosed it as bad flashing around the base of the chimney that was causing the problem. He charged us 900 dollars to fix the flashing and fix the leak. He also gave us a 10 year warranty. After the initial "repair" of the flashing, the leak from my roof GOT WORSE. I called him multiple times over and over, he COULD NOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK and continued to "fix" all different parts of the roof WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. He tore apart the shingles and added unnecessary fixes to our roof yet our roof continued to leak. He also NEVER COMES WHEN HE SAYS HE WILL COME!! I would contact the secretary asking Alex to come on wednesday, and you would be LUCKY if he comes that week. He never ever shows up on the promised date. Finally we asked for a refund as he gave us a warranty that this leak will be fixed. However he COMPLETELY refused to give a refund and said that the warranty does NOT guarantee him fixing the leak and "all it promised was a new flashing." He is a scammer who does not honor his word and respects his customers. I had to fight tooth and nail to even get partial money back. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!

I can't say enough good things about Alex and his team. They did a full exterior renovation and rehab on my Victorian house. He was professional and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. And, very easy to work with. Alex and his employees were experts at bringing back the beauty and old time charm on our project. They made some major detailed improvements to our house that we couldn’t be happier with. In the end we asked him to come back and do more projects and further upgrades to our house. We are repeat customers for life. No problem was ever too big or too small for him. I cannot recommend Alex enough. Take a look at the before and after photos for the extreme makeover that Alex and his team made successful!

Alex and his team are great professionals. They arrive on time, get the work done, and clean the site well. Alex did more work than I expected and paid for - he is that kind of guy: pays attention to details and takes care of them. He does what is right for the job.

Alex and his crew were awesome. They replaced our roof at a very reasonable cost, were on time, answered any questions I had as the work was being done, and cleaned up everything when it was finished. I plan on hiring them to do some interior work as well when the time is right.

We contacted Montclair Roofing as we had a problem with leaks coming from a flat roof and in minutes we received a call from Alex. He set up an appointment, provided a quote and we scheduled the work for the same week. The crew arrived early Saturday morning and did a wonderful job. They were also super clean and they left the work area spotless. We were so happy that we hired them again for electrical work and hang a light fixture. Alex is wonderful to work with, responsive and professional. We will hire them again!

Flat Roof and electrical work

Original roof with 2 overlays - they took the roof down to the shakes and rebuilt with plywood and up to date shingles. 6 men worked tirelessly over 3 days. Very fair price. Excellent service. Polite. Pleasant. Professional. Everyone wearing a company shirt. BEWARE there is a service hijacking Alex's good name called Montclair Roofing Construction - this is NOT the same outfit.

They were very easy to work, timely, clean, and the end job looks great. All at a very good price. I will definitely use these guys again.

We had our house and garage painted. Not only did they prime and paint in one of 4 special match colors, but had different finishes for: Stucco, Shingles, Shutters and Trim. Even before priming, Alex and his crew replaced a number of shingles, and damaged or rotted spots with new material. Having the confidence we had in Montclair Roofing, we had them replace most of our porch, surface, and detailed lattice underneath. Now that they are finished, the house looks the best it ever has! Not only do we recommend Alex and Montclair Roofing Services, we plan on using them again soon! ...and don't let Roofing in the name make you think they only do Roofing, they are so much more!

Alex responded to our first call within 10 minutes, and was at our house in half an hour, inspecting the roof damage and showing us photos of what repairs needed to be done. He also suggested painting the exterior, and gave us a very attractive estimate. We agreed immediately, and work began within two days. The entire time the job was being done, there was a member of the Montclair Roofing Services team on site, making progress. We later hired Alex and his company to do interior painting and floor refinishing. We are pleased to give this company the highest recommendation.

We called for a roof repair. Alex demonstrated that the entire front half of the roof needed to be replaced. We agreed to that, and also asked for a quote for outside painting of the house and the garage. The estimate, which we found reasonable, was all inclusive of labor and materials. He scheduled the work immediately. Once the work started, the contract stated that it would continue every day unless stopped by weather, and indeed, the crew was here every day and had the job finished in a week. The workers accidentally went through the roof at one point and immediately repaired the damage including repairing the ceiling below; no extra charge. We made an error with the color of the trim paint; Alex allowed us to correct the color and supplied the paint and repainted the trim without adjusting the final price, which equaled what he had estimated. He also included the replacement of a downspout. By far our most positive experience with a contractor in 17 years in this house. Would not hesitate to recommend!

Alex and his team are amazing. Professional, punctual, polite, hard-working, and extremely detail oriented. He had been doing several projects for our neighbor so we asked for a quote and were pleased with the pricing and time frame to do a floor to ceiling bathroom make-over. He and his team were on time to the minute everyday, worked long hours, did a full clean up every day, and offered sound advice/suggestions when we were on the fence about what to do. 100% reliable and true to their word. We could not be happier with the final results. His work was so good that we've referred him to several other neighbors and friends and retained him for an additional project. Highly recommend!!
