About us

Fine Custom Carpentry was established in 1987. We are a full service remodeling firm specializing in old house restorations and woodworking. We have maintained a thousand square-foot woodshop and offices at our current address since 1993. As a general contractor we do not sub-contract the general work. We do retain a team of highly qualified licensed sub-contractors (plumber and electrician) and specialists (climate, media, flooring, masonry and others).

Working with Jason was a great experience. He is a true craftsman and put a lot of thought and effort into every detail of the job. I think that it is rare these days to find someone who really knows how to work with wood and takes such pride in high quality workmanship as Jason does. The only hard part was finding a convenient time for Jason to do the work as he has a very busy schedule.
Description of Work: I had a mantel shelf that was very narrow (maybe 3" deep) and therefore kind of skimpy and useless. Jason removed the old mantel shelf and built and installed a new one. He used primed pine and built a more substantial mantel shelf that projects further into the room. He also added two corbels (decorative brackets) underneath to give it more presence.
