Contrary to what the Bynderian Floors website says, the rug we sent to them for cleaning, does not look brand new; in fact, they damaged it and refuse to take responsibility. We sent our white wool rug from Crate & Barrel to be cleaned in early August. It was five years-old from a pet-free home with no stains. It just needed a good cleaning from a home with young children. Two weeks later, they called to tell us they did not like how it came out so they would clean it again. Ten days later, they delivered the rug. It now had yellow and brown stains and smelt like it had been burned. We called to complain and they said they would take it back and try again. Three weeks later, they called us again to say they were not sure what happened and they would try to "sour" the rug to get the stains out. A week later, it was delivered back -- and although it looks better than the first time we got it back, it still has yellow spots and the texture of the rug is completely different. When we called to complain the response was - "well, we wash it, we wash it again, and then all bets are off." I asked for the owner to call me back (and emailed him directly) -- When I finally got him on the phone, his answer was "take me to court; how do I know your rug wasn't ruined before?" Given that they've had our rug for nearly two months, I'd say they had plenty of opportunity to tell us if there was anything on the rug they could not clean. This was never the case. Mistakes happen and sometimes things get damaged along the way. The lack of accountability and blaming the customer as if any of this was our fault is insulting. I recommend avoiding Bynderian and trying another company. CUSTOMER BEWARE!

Bob Bynderian, the owner, came out, measured, e-mailed a quote, which we accepted.

Two weeks later, his installer arrived.  He took  up the old tiles, put in a new sub-floor, installed the new tiles (part of the installation in our hundred-year-old house was extremely difficult, what with curves, old cabinets in the butler's pantry, etc.), moved all the appliances out and then back, etc. etc.  A professional job.  Here, eight months later, it's just fine.  We are pleased, especially when we compare our experiences with other flooring companies which gave estimates almost double what we paid to Bynderian, our local guy for decades in Montclair.

They did a good job.

I called to ask if they could patch my wall-to-wall carpeting using some extra pieces I kept from the installation (by someone else, 7 years ago.) A technician came the same day and not only looked at it but did the work. I was very pleased with the result. He did quote me a minimum price and he did the work within the scope of that figure.

Arrived on time, sent postcard when they were done, waited until paint job was finished before returning them. I was so happy with the job, I called the owner myself, to tell him how happy I was with the cleaning job they did. I was really impressed with what they did with my 15 year old orientals.

After trials and tribulations of "trying to save a buck" I now simply to to Bynderian because I know the work will be done well. I give them a B for price because they are a bit pricey but they are worth every dollar.

There is no story. I call; they come; and about 2 weeks later the rugs are returned and put down again by their men. They put them where I want them.

I have used Bynderian Carpets to clean and repair oriental, dhurrie, and other area rugs for over 20 years. They will come pick up the rugs or you can drop them off. It took about a week for cleaning. They are also experts at repairing and restoring oriental rugs.

I delivered and picked up, for which they gave me a 10% discount. The rug was cleaned and smelled MUCH better....we had been dog sitting for a friend. Friendly and professional -- they did what they said they'd do and in the time they promised.

When I turned on the heating system recently, 4 old-fashioned steam radiators leaked large quantities of rusty water all over my hand-made oriental rugs. It was a Saturday at about 11 a.m. I called Bynderian in a panic, and within 1 1/2 hours they had a lovely man in my house rolling up the soggy, filthy rugs to get them to their plant before the rust dried on them. They were brought back 11 days later and look beautiful.
