I booked the job with the owner. His employee came on the appointed day and did the work. While he was working, he told me that mine was the first customer's tub he had worked on but I shouldn't worry because he had been trained, When he was through, it was easy to see drips, runs and places where he had not smoothed out chips in the old finish. I pointed the flaws out, since it was clear he wasn't going to. He said it would have to dry before anything could be done and I should call the company. I called and was told by the owner that ot was not worth it for him to come back to fix anything but I could have all my money back. Suprised and disappointed, I accepted the refund. The check came by mail soon thereafter and didn't bounce.

Stay away from this company. Mr. Ugly is really ugly. Buy a new tub instead.

Horrible experience for multiple reasons:
1. The fumes were unreal. They were supposed to dissipate after a day or so, but it took well over a week even with a fan in the open window 24/7, and bathroom door closed. You couldn't even enter the room for 2 days because of the fumes.
2. The tech who did the work was AWFUL. He did a terrible job. The finish was lumpy in some places and there were drips down the wall and pooling in the corners. Naturally, when I called to complain about the quality of the job, they sent the same guy to re-do the work. He did better the second time around, but not by much.
3. The tech was creepy and said really strange and eerie things.
4. The tub started peeling in less than a year. When we called to complain, it took awhile to get someone out to look at it. They offered to re-do it, but we weren't interested in giving them a third chance and enduring the fumes for a third time.
5. Got in a huge fight with the owner over the refund. He claimed the tub was peeling because we didn't dry it appropriately after each use, but we were never advised to do so. He stormed out of the house after agreeing to refund the money for the tub portion of the job only, as he felt the glazing of the tile surround was still adequate.
They were shockingly quick about refunding our money, which was the only good part about our experience with them. Even after our toddler shredded the initial refund check, they quickly issued us a new one (minus the cost for canceling the destroyed check, which was fair).

I asked many times about the quality of the glazing and how much use I would get out of my tub. I was assured that it would be great, only a few restrictions on the usage so that there wouldn't be scratching.
The technician came out and I asked again. Apparently there were many more restrictions than I was told. The tech told me that it was just paint, good paint, but just paint.
He did a bad job of putting on the glaze. I called them up and was told that someone would fix it, but it would take several weeks until someone was in the area. They couldn't be bothered to hurry because of the cost of the commute. Well, it's a good thing that my tile guy came the next day. He saw the problem, spoke to the company and their lead tech was fixing it within the week.
The lead tech and I had a conversation on doing the kitchen counters. Again, he made me think that I wouldn't have to worry about accidental scratches or anything because it was very steady. I signed a contract for $500. They took a $150 deposit. When their guy came out to do the work, I asked again and was told that it was paint, very good paint, but just paint. I wouldn't let him do the job, even when they offered me a better warranty. After all they would be the ones deciding whether it was warranty work or my fault.
When I talked to the owner about getting my deposit back, he wouldn't do it. He was also much more concerned that he paid for his worker to come out to the job and then to return without doing the work. He is about 1 hr away from me and advertises that he works in this area. Maybe he shouldn't complain to his customers about his travel expenses.
Then they didn't give me back my deposit, said it was non-refundable. No mention of this was made, nor was it on the contract.
The Better Business Bureau didn't do anything. They told me that it was reasonable for the specialty order to be non-refundable and that I should know that. Again, wasn't in the contract. So they get a bad score, too.

Awful, just awful. The job was so badly botched that I'm sure it's going to cost several times as much to get the job done right. Fifteen or so years ago, Mr. Wolff, aka Mr. Ugly, came to our previous house and did a wonderful job of refinishing a bathtub. I was happy when he agreed to remove and replace the grout in our tiled shower. He quoted the job over the phone, which I thought was a bit strange, but considering our positive experience with him I figured he knew what he was doing. He asked whether anybody had patched the grout and gotten grout on the tile surface because, he said, it makes it nearly impossible to remove and replace it. I told him no. He didn't do the work himself. He sent a technician who apparently did not remove all of the old grout. He removed some of it?I could hear him using the grout removal machine, and the bathroom and adjacent bedroom were covered with fine white dust. But I can't believe he removed it all in the short time he spent. Then he slathered on the new grout. In the process he got a lot of grout on the tile surfaces. The new grout lines are three times as wide as the originals. They?re not smooth, and a couple of them have long cracks that would leak if we used the shower. Thankfully we have another bathroom we can use until we can get the problem fixed. He caulked the corners with Phenoseal, doing the worst looking caulking job I?ve ever seen. He said he couldn?t remove the haze of grout from the tiles because it had to dry for a couple of hours. He said I?d have to wipe down the tiles when the grout dried. I told Mr. Wolff that the job hadn?t been done properly. He said the cracks must have been caused by the wall moving. I asked him to come and see for himself. He said ?No, I won?t do that. I?ve seen grout. I know what grout looks like.? He checked with the technician, who told him the job had been done properly. I sent pictures of the work to Mr. Wolff. He returned my check. If I can figure out how to do it, I?ll upload a couple of the pictures so you can see for yourself. Considering our previous experience with Mr. Ugly, I had expected to write a glowing review. I'm really sorry I can't.

The worker would come into my kitchen while the chemicals would process and talk to me. There were other workers doing other projects in my house that he would try to strike up conversations with. He threw the chemicals in the trash can with no liner and no bag. I asked him to stop and he did. He put the product in his truck but powders and flakes ended up in my backyard and on my house, which I had to remove.
