They did good. They were friendly. They don't make you wait long. We've never waited more than like 5 or 10 minutes and we get there half an hour, an hour. They are good people. They are very professional.

The female rottweiler had some kind of cancer in her toenail, in her toe. She had her toe removed. They did everything right. They were very patient with her. They were good with her. She was touchy about her foot. They were great about when the bandage was starting to get dirty and they had come in for another bandage. they didn't charge us, it was all apart of the service. They were very compassionate. They were good at scheduling. The job was done successfully. I can't think of anything they did wrong at all. That's been our vet for the past 4 or 5 years. We really wouldn't go somewhere else. We trust them completely. They are very very good there.

Dr. Hodes has been our family vet for over 15 years - on Sunday at 8am, he was there to guide our family into saying goodbye to our 18 year old cat that was my husband's cat since a kitten in COLLEGE!  In his own words, and quot;I was a kid and I thought she'd live 4-5 years!and quot;
Losing a family pet is always painful - the most difficult part of it is recognizing and rising to the occasion of being humane when the and quot;humanand quot; part of you wants to hold on forever.
My husband and I are in our late 30s and have a toddler. Nisha is the third pet that Dr. Hodes has had to guide us through the challenges of letting go. The first was my 17 year old yellow lab Lance who I had since he was a puppy. I was 16 when I got him and I learned everything about responsibility with him- I will never truly get over that loss. The second was Merlin - a rescued 10-13 year old orange tabby who was literally rotting from the inside out but who we loved anyway for another 13 years! Nisha was the last of our furry babies that was a part of our lives before we became adults.
As I made the call to the vet's office at 7:00am on Sunday, I wasn't prepared to hear Dr. Hodes' voice even though I have called off hours before and he's answered every time... I was prepared for the voicemail with the contact information to the emergency vet service. We were brokenhearted to think of having to go through that with someone we didn't know and in a foreign place. Dr. Hodes made himself available immediately and we took comfort in being there without a waiting room of people and their pets.
I read the other reviews and smiled in reference to another reviewer mentioning the gruffness of Dr. Hodes and the personalities of the other vets - yes. You must choose a doctor for your pets the same way as a pediatrician - and I can say this being the 19 year old from Georgia who for YEARS DROVE 12 hours back to Georgia for vet care because of that same and quot;gruff, no nonsenseand quot; doctor from Jersey who didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy!
But like another reviewer, I soon realized that in fact, that owner of the vet clinic is absolutely the warm, gentle, 30-year expert in his field who teaches young mothers to safely combine their new baby with their furry ones safely, who answers that phone 24 hours a day, who keeps those Christmas cards and remembers the way you smiled on your wedding announcement!
You WILL NOT find a more skillful veterinarian with more experience, conscious or heart than Dr. Steven Hodes.
We have come to know all of the doctors in the practice and there is someone for every personality. Dr. Hodes will remain our choice because he is that rare combination of no-nonsense, experience and comfort that you need when making decisions about the care you need for your family. He looks you in the eye: Every. Time. Tells you are crazy when you are but doesn't make you feel stupid for being so, will never offer you services you don't need and stands firm about what you do need.
Thinking about the ages of our beloved pets, we have to be doing something right to have pets well into their teens - just shy of their twenties!
You might be able to find someone cheaper, perhaps a little better bedside manner, but when he has to reach for a book to explain something, he knows the page numbers by heart and is a very skilled diagnostician - THIS IS THE MAN YOU WANT when you have to make the tough decisions, doing the yearly check-ups, and taking care of your pet in times of need. Do you hire the warm and fuzzy OBGYN for that natural childbirth you fantasize about or the no nonsense excellent surgeon in case things go horribly wrong?!
He'll be the one who thanks you for allowing him the opportunity to care for your pet on that last day and remember exactly where that lump is on that hind leg he's been monitoring for years without opening a chart or asking a question.
There are some places you go for warm and fuzzy and others you go for the best care you can get for your family - and eventually, like he is now for us, he'll be both.
Hodes Veterinary Group and Dr. Hodes is that person for our family - you should definitely consider it for yours, for when it matters the most.
Thank you Dr. Hodes for 15 years of caring for our pets as if they're your own and for giving them the love they deserve when letting them go.
Forever grateful, the Brunhammers.

I have been bringing my dogs here for years. My favorite vet is Dr. Mike Anacker. He's caring and compassionate, and very competent also. He gives dogs a thorough examination, answers all questions patiently, and provides excellent care. When my previous dog was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Mike walked me through all the options for treatment and expected outcomes and patiently helped me decide what was the right thing to do for my pet. He has done everything from regular exams and shots to surgery to, unfortunately, putting down my pet when it was time. I continue to bring my current dog to Dr. Mike and have always been happy with his care. The cost isn't cheap, but like everything else, you get what you pay for.

I have been going to Hode's for years, and I've never had a problem. Actually, this is the only Vet I've ever used. I'll continue with them in the future.

They are good. I've went there a couple of times. Someone recommended them to me. I am happy with them, they take care of my cats, and they are a nice clinic. They are not over expensive, the quality of care is good, they have good punctuality, and I will continue to go to them.

Since it's a group you can try several vets until you find the one you click with. To the person who had a problem with Dr Hodes himself. I understand, I had the same initial reaction, but let me tell you, behind that gruff exterior beats a heart of gold that loves animals. Dr Hodes is very no nonsense. He actually told me I was killing my dog by overfeeding him and to feed him less. However years later he very gently and caringly helped us ease that same dog from life and took the time and trouble to send us a beautiful handwritten letter (not a form letter as it cited personal details) assuring us that we had done all we could , had given our old dog the best life and had nothing to reproach ourselves for. A year later he has been nothing but wonderful, gentle and caring with our two new puppies and he will always be the first choice vet for us. I like most of the vets with the exception of Dr Conway, who talks more than she listens but she may grow out of hat. I particularly liked Dr Troeger who we saw for the first time last week. Not sure if Dr Anacker is still there but I heard great things about them also. They aren't any more expensive than any other vet and they donate their time at all the local shot clinics so you always have that option open to you

Went fine .....................when I had Dr. Hodes examining my dog. I could not connect and felt we clashed and that I should go elsewhere.

We use them periodically. It is a pretty expensive cat and it had a couple of major operations. There was something weird that happened in the intestine that required a couple of resections. Their price was fair and they were upfront about the cost of everything that was involved. The cat was going through some problems on a Sunday night somewhere around midnight or 12:30. We called the number just expecting to leave a message or something for the morning and the veterinarian was actually there. He actually call back right away and told use to meet him at the clinic in 20 minutes, and we did.

I have been taking my pets to them for about three years. The veterinarian I see here is really very good. She is very caring and lets you know everything that you need to know in order to take care of you animal appropriately. The staff is also good.
