Fixing automobile AC can be expensive. Since coolant leaks are often caused by malfunctioning parts, the car owner is generally
in the dark about what the job might entail. As best I can tell, I had a good experience with Frosty. He is a one man show working out of a Sunoco station in Milltown, NJ. I brought the car in, he refilled the coolant, identified the source of the leak, and gave me an estimate for parts and labor ($140). The condenser needed replacement and was a $405 part. He also estimated the labor at $350-$400 and said he would only charge for actual time since he had not worked on my model car before. The car dealer, and other shops wanted at least as much. The second recharge was done for 1/2 price of the first. As it turned out, the labor was less, and the replacement job with taxes came to $720. I appreciated his honesty. The AC has worked fine now for the entire summer, so I believe it is OK.

Auto Service
Excellent service. Jim is a master mechanic and I go to him for air condition problems and tough car problems that other mechanics cannot solve. The air-condition system in the car was not cooling the car down. Cool air and not cold air was blowing out. The mechanic solved the problem by finding the leak in the system using dye to locate the leak. Besides a valve, they installed a new thermostat, hose anti-freeze and Freon. They provided an itemized bill which was exactly in the ballpark of what they quoted. They are easy to deal with and show you the old parts they replace which I like.
