Tarleton & Family Landscaping Co.

We've been using Mike's team to do some basic landscaping tasks for us for 6 months. They started doing a fall cleanup last year which was excellent. This lead us to contract them for more work in the spring (cleanup, thatch removal, mulching, etc.) which was close to $800 and to be performed over several days. Unfortunately, the spring cleanup did not go so well. The workers beat up our annuals with the blowers (even removed one of them), ripped up roots of existing plants and did a mediocre job mowing. None of this was a huge deal as there are growing pains with any new process. In response to this I personally contacted Mike to work towards an amicable resolution. I didn't even ask for money back; I simply wanted to raise the issues and have them dealt with in a professional and effective manner. The email conversation started off pleasantly enough and he did a drive by to check on the work. Apparently our perspectives on quality of work and professionalism are incompatible and Mike ultimately chose to end our working relationship. Now I am left with trying to find another landscaper on short order in the heat of the spring season due to an unprofessional owner and subpar work. In addition to this, he was noncommittal about scheduling when his team would be at my house which prevented me from being able to effectively plan my own spring work (overseeding, new plantings, etc.). None of these were insurmountable issues and some of them are to be expected any time you're working on new tasks with someone new.
