I wouldn't say it's excellent. I would say it's good. I would say very personable owner but communication skills need some work because of the fact that it was not explained well enough meant that I was calling up with questions having to do with the job and if it was explained better in terms of what was anticipated in the job, I wouldn't be calling, the fact that his workers were working in the dark in a December evening was kind of pushing the limits in terms of logic and I provided the light so that they could work. Technically, I think they did a good job but it was unexplained as to what was happening in what part of the process and men were being shifted from job to job. I might actually hire them again for some brick work. Of the five estimates, it was one of the higher ones but that's what I went with. The quality of the work was fine. They left some extra concrete in the grass that I'm going to have to try and rake out in the spring. When you have a trowel and you're going over the concrete, you probably whisk the trowel around to get the little concrete off and it probably went into the grass that was adjoining the sidewalk so now I have little tiny pieces of concrete that is stuck to the grass and I didn't see that until after they were gone. It's not a big deal but it shouldn't be that way. I was provided with the owner's cellphone number. I wish I didn't have to call him as frequently. I am not a crazy person but when I saw that there were no lines being put into the wet concrete, it was only after I called that I found out that there needed to be some drying time before those lines were etched into the sidewalk. If he told me that, I wouldn't have been bothering him. Their punctuality had nothing to do with the real issue. The issue was how the owner of the business decided where he's going to put his men so when his men showed up at 4:30 on a winter's night to working concrete, that is really not punctuality, that is bad judgment. I didn't know what he was thinking unless these people have night vision glasses. I might use him again in the future. I already asked for an estimate for some paver work.
