I couldn't be happier with my experience.  I had been trying to get this job done for three years.  The previous estimates, when I actually got them, were extremely high.  Mike and Mike came over and gave us a fair estimate and worked with us to extend the bottom landing.  I was also excited that they were able to do the stamped concrete at a reasonable price.  They showed up on time and had the old steps removed in one day.  The job site was always safe and neat.  They also took exceptional care of my landscaping which was located extremely close to where the steps were poured.  Mike did a beautiful job stamping the steps, taking extra time to go back and add detailing to it.  They were able to make the concrete coordinate with the existing stone planters I had.  While the entire process took about two weeks (with the powerwashing and sealing), Mike always called and came when he said he would.  I did have to make several phone calls to get the initial estimate but this seems to be pretty standard among concrete companies and we did play some phone tag.  Overall, I couldn't be happier with how the steps turned out. They are beautiful and  I am already planning a project for next spring.

They came out and did the work as scheduled.  The quality of the work and of the concrete is good and it is holding up well.

I would highly recommend them.

They took close to a year to finish a 2 month job.  It turned out okay but I had to call them weekly to see when they would come to finish the job.  My driveway was in upheaval for months.  They never followed through on repairs as promised when the job was finally complete.  I fell for the "we are like family" line.  They are nice people, but I would never use or refer them to anyone.  Perhaps this job was just too big for them.

Mr. Carrero advised us of our options and worked with us to find an option that was within our price range.  He kept us informed of when he would be out and checked in over the course of the job to make sure we were happy.  When there was some discoloration with the original overlay, Mr. Carrero immediately responded (though he had already been paid in full) to recolor and make sure we were happy.  Would definately use this contractor again!!

A year ago, I had estimates for this project and was unable to complete the project due to personal reasons.   I was on Angie's List in the Spring looking for something else and decided to re-visit this project.  The contractor I was going to use had several reviews stating how expensive the estimates were.  I saw some positive reviews for Carrero & Sons and gave them a call.  They promptly returned my call and were out to give me an estimate a few days later.  Mike, Jr. asked if I was looking for stamped concrete but based on my prior estimates stamped was not in the budget.  Mike explained that stamped is their specialty and they had all the templates and could be very competitive in this area.  In the end, I paid over $1800 less than my estimates from last year for a mix of stamped and white concrete.

Rain in the spring led to the job being delayed but I received proactive calls to keep me informed as to where I was on the schedule.  This is one of the few times I have had someone call me before I called them!  Once we got started, again weather was a factor, but the communication was great and I always knew what to expect.  The finsihed results are wider, safer stamped steps and walkways, a new walkway to my houes, the replacement of a broken concrete walkway that now connects to a patio in the backyard.  All of this work was stamped.  They also replaced the driveway with white concrete.  Everything looks great.  They recycled some flagstones that were sunken and created a path for me and even cam back and replaced the wooden steps onto my patio that had seen better days.  I have gotten so many compliments, even envy from my neighbor who right before my project started replaced his driveway and was not thrilled with the finished result.  My drveiway is now proerply graded with water flowing away from the house and everything else looks lovely.  I highly recommend this company, a really nice family business that really cares about satisfying customers and doing quality work.  I would absolutely reommend Carrero & Sons and would use them again.

Carrero and Sons it a totally family owned and operated business. We decided to initially contact the company because it was local. At the initial meeting they arrived on time, evaluated the project, and provided us with an estimate. We agreed that day upon the price and set up a future day on which the work was to commence. Just don?t let first impressions fool you. When you first meet them you must keep in mind that they are concrete workers not college professors. Just judge them on their knowledge of the job at hand rather than some preconceived notion. Everyone in the company is extremely courteous and polite. We also found them to be very honest and trustworthy. When the project date arrived, the father, son, son-in-law and one other worker arrived early in the morning to begin breaking-up the old concrete. By the end of the day the old concrete had been removed, crushed stone had been laid, and the forms were set in place. Nothing happened on day two because of the weather. On day three the colored concrete was poured and stamped. Considering there was an unexpected thunderstorm during the actual pouring, the men worked extra hard that day to overcome the adverse affects of the weather. Throughout the entire process they were upbeat and positive. This helped us to feel much better about the situation. Moreover, since we had absolutely no prior experience with stamped concrete, both Mike, Sr. and Mike, Jr. were a great resource in helping us select the appropriate color and pattern. Believe me, there are over a dozen patters and scores of colors from which to select. Their patience and guidance were extremely helpful in making a difficult decision less confusing; we greatly appreciated their professional input. It took us a long time to decide which colors and patterns matched the house; in the end we left the final color decision to Mike, Sr. We were extremely happy with his decision. About two days later they return to wash off the color release. We then had to wait four - five days more for the concrete to fully dry before the clear coat sealer could be applied. When the day arrived they had to postpone the sealing because it was too cold that day and it was necessary to wait another few days for the temperature to rise. The men were very good about keeping their appointments and schedules; however, when having stamped concrete work done, one must enter into the process understanding that it is a multi-step process and that basically almost everything depends on the weather. After the stamped concrete work was completely finished, bad weather prevented them from color sealing our existing concrete driveway for another week. Thereafter, upon hearing a favorable weather report, we were called and informed that they would be out to complete that work. About two weeks after everything was finished we received a follow-up telephone call from Mike, Sr. asking if everything was OK and if we were satisfied with the work. Although we told him that we were very happy with the finished product, he told us that he would contact us again in the Spring in order to determine if there was anything that we noticed over the winter that needed to be addressed and if so he would be back to take care of it once it got warmer. Throughout the entire process both Mike, Sr. and Mike, Jr. kept say: ?are you happy? We want you to be happy.? To that end they achieved their goal.

This was truly a unique contacting experience. The price was very competitive, the workers were professional, polite, and incredibly accommodating to our ever changing design plan. Don't let their rough exterior fool you these guys are top notch professionals. They did various projects for us including removing basement floor and re pouring & stamping. Also they repaired and extended our French drain system, not to mention remodeling, repairing, and incorporating design modification to front portico circular steps. They also reconstructed our back porch brick patio, rebuilt the hardscape. They transformed our basement into an incredible entertainment venue. Carrero took our calls and responded quickly & efficiently their goal was to keep us happy and they did. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them highly.
