Mark and his son-in-law did a fantastic job!  They came and did the work each day that they told us they would do the day before.  There were no surprises.  We picked out the cabinet, sink, toilet and accessories.  Both gentlemen were very agreeable and diligent in their work.  We we added additional items to the list, Mark told us up front that he was willing to pick up the items if we picked them out, and would add the items to the bill at the end.  He also recommended a great tile place.  We were able to find everything we wanted, and did not have to carry the large items home ourselves.  The fellows did that for us willingly.  The duo also made helpful suggestions regarding small items that we hadn't thought of-such as light switches and molding.  They even painted the outside of the bathroom door, which we had left unfinished. 
As soon as we have saved enough,  we plan to have them back to finish the rest of the house.

Better Than New was an absolute pleasure to do business with. We dealt primarily with Ian, who was responsive, informative, and professional every step of the way. He was able to anticipate potential problems in advance, so there were no "surprises". Ian was absolutely amazing, he gave a reasonable estimate, told us the process step by step and the time that it would take to complete the work. Ian was always on time and very professional, he even patched up a small hole in my guest bedroom wall for no additional cost. The job was well done, better than new. Dealing with contractors is my biggest head ache with owning a home, I'm so happy I found Better Than New...I will keep their contact information always and they will always be my first call.

Mark Falkner and his son-in-law Ian, did all the work. I needed my bathroom tub area in the basement re-tiled. I called Mark and we set up an appointment for him to come to our home and discuss what we needed done as well as an estimate. Mark showed up when he said he would and explained what we would need to do and also provided us with options. We have a finished basement and the bathroom is in good condition except for the tub area. Mark put new backer-board and also had to re-inforc the tub area. He completely tiled the entire tub enclosure. It took about 4 days to complete. Mark is punctual, and discusses the work as he progresses. My husband and I were extremely pleased with the final work that Mark and Ian did.
The second project was a complete gutting of our master bath. Again, Mark came to look at the bathroom, discussed prices, options as well as ideas. We had an idea of what we wanted but weren't completely sure. Mark took his time in discussing this with us. I never felt like he was pushing  us into agreeing to something we didn't want. My husband and I agreed to having a customized walk-in shower as opposed to a bathtub. The whole project took about 2 1/2 weeks and again, Mark talked to us at the end of each day on progress and potential challenges as our home is close to 100 years old. Mark and Ian did all the work (except plumbing), we worked on some challenges (nothing major). Mark and Ian did an exceptional job with my new bathroom. He built us a customized walk-in shower with a bench seat.  He does fabulous work and truly takes pride in what he does. The quality of work is exceptional.
The third project (this is how much we love this guy), we had him back for a 3rd time (this should give you an idea of the quality of work he does), Mark and Ian completed tiled our basement floor. it's a finished basement however due to prior flood the carpet that was initially in the basement was removed. Aside from the floor tile, he also re-painted and patched a few areas in the walls and added (his suggestion), while molding around the bottom. The end result was amazing.
The fourth project, which most contractors would not even bother with, was to just patch an area of my living room ceiling where we had a small leak in a drain pipe. Mark and Ian did this as well and did a remarkable job.
I can't begin to say enough about Mark and the incredible work he and Ian do. They are always punctual, let you know what is happening throughout the project and their quality of work is exceptional. I especially loved that I could discuss ideas with them insofar as design, colors, materials, etc. Mark gave me many ideas that I didn't think about. My husband and I were always pleased with the work Mark and Ian did for us. Hence, why we've used them 4 X's!

It went quite well. They painted a bedroom, two bathrooms and a dining room that were very challenging in that they had a lot of faux finishes that required sanding and a lot of priming. They also replaced countertops, light fixtures and did some carpentry - framing below chair rail, etc. A plumbing emergency arose and they handled it very well, saving us from a lot of extra expense and headache.

Met with contractor and reviewed job, he submitted a very thorough estimate and stuck to it. All work was done as scheduled and final product was beautiful.
