Since 1998, award-winning decorator Nicole Lorber, has worked, along with her talented crew of design crafts-professionals, to bring delight to clients in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, and beyond, with interior touches that are truly transformational. We've served the needs of over 1300 clients in our almost 20 years in business and assisted with over 10,000 rooms. We are SO excited to announce that in 2017 the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) awarded us, along with one of our key kitchen cabinetry resources, first place for top kitchen design in Central New Jersey! We service in Middlesex county and Burlington county. We have both a Central and South Jersey Division to serve our clients' needs utilizing local prescreened resources even more affectively for our projects.

Nicole has been helped us for decorating our house from window treatment and this time completely redo my master bedroom. The project came out to my expectations. It is amazing experience to see how Nicole put everything from bed, carpet and mirror, wall painting, lighting all come together for our master bedroom. She is very responsive and responsible. The moment she took up your project, you know you are in a good hand.

My husband Marc and I were so fortunate to find such a wonderful designer as we furnished our newly purchased center city Philadelphia condo. We had complete confidence in Nicole's design ability as she offered suggestions and guided us through the process. We appreciated how she worked with our style and vision rather than trying to inject her own. We were completely satisfied with wall colors and the magnificent flooring that she chose for us. We will retain her services again when we tackle the future phases of our project.

She can prepare a budget and a timeline and then follow these and adjust where necessary based on the events that come up during construction. I was starting with a new house from scratch. Nicole helped me from start to finish. She helped me budget the project. She helped me plan the space for each room. She helped me make each room unique, yet we made the house fit together. Nicole helped me work with builders, suppliers, delivery people. She was there every step of the way offering her years of knowledge and expertise. Yet, she allowed me to still have the house reflect the style that matched my family. She always worked hard and was very professional. She also has a large base of craftspeople that can help with special projects along the way. Nicole can manage projects from a small to very large scale. This was a great and successful experience.

I worked with Nicole in the 1990's for decorating, custom window treatments and designing a nursery even before she became Distinctive Interior Designs. I am delighted to see how much her business has grown over the past twenty years. In more recent times, I have observed her professionalism in working with clients as well as contractors. She really has incredible patience in listening and catering to her clients' needs while also trying to get them the best value for their money. She is flexible and accommodating, while also being strong enough to stand up to a vendor if for some reason the client needs a voice to better represent their wishes. I've seen Nicole invest countless hours and go above and beyond for a project to make sure that the client is completely happy with the end result. "My contractors and I always try to do our absolute best to make a client happy. Things do happen from time to time that can make a client less happy. In this case there were too many...and I tried to do everything in my power to turn things around: a pencil mark marred a chair (my contractor paid to have a professional come clean the entire chair), the tile removal was extremely dusty (I personally paid for an extra round of the client''s cleaning lady), and, at the end of the project, my final contractor ended up so ill that he was in ICU for a week immediately after completing this project...the work suffered and the client suffered as a result. To try to make up for all these problems, I worked with my contractor/ the client to get him to come back from Baltimore (where he had moved a month afterward). He came 2 weekends in a row: 1st, to meet with the client and agree to do the fixes (asking them to mark everything they wanted addressed so nothing would be missed) and then, 2nd, to do all the fixes. After working for 5 hours on a Saturday, he walked the client through all the completed tile fixes to get her approval (which she blessed) and her significant other even offered him a $200 tip for 'going the extra mile' to address everything. (My contractor turned the tip down and told the homeowner, 'I can't accept money for doing what should have been done in the first place.') Ultimately, though we tried in every way, the client wasn't happy and withheld an extra $200 from the final payment and gave this rating. This is the first time in my 18 years in business my company has ever received a rating lower than a 4. Certainly I'm upset about the rating, but I'm even more upset that a client was not happy."
