Abosultey Awful! I wish there was a negative start option. This had to have been one of the worst experiences of my life. I lost my grandmother in March and her house needed updating. Steven was hired to paint the entire house inside, all the cabinets including bathrooms, the garage, and several other items that slowly fell off the list because he was not doing the work he was hired for. His contract literally changed 9 times because of him. As a matter of fact he was doing other jobs in my grandmother's house for other clients, when he was asked about it he said it must have been one of his guys. He was the only one that was supposed to have access to the home, so either way he is liable. When we realized he was doing other work for other clients in my family's home I booked a trip for the next week. He called me Friday May 6 to inform me he would be taking a three day weekend for Mothers Day. When I asked the status of the house I was told "Don't worry about it" and "Stop busting my balls". The day I flew up I asked for an update and was told "I don't pay attention to what people say" and when asked about the deadline that he set, "How many fingers do you have?" He is rude, condescending and you can not get a word in, even if you do you are always wrong. The deadline for this job was set by him. I never actually discussed it with him. Once I was up there it was evident he would not be done by May 14. The house was actually worse than when I had left. He broke a window, used fans that caused paint to spray all over the windows, and disassembled windows for no reason, all he had to do was raise them up but he pulled them apart. He left trash in my garage that I had to clean up. He would not arrive until 2pm or later every day. If I sent a text message for an update, he would call and scream at me. Yes you read that right he actually screamed at me. I should have called the police then, but I was hoping he would step up and do the right thing and just get the job done. I paid him $4200.17. On Friday I had another contractor install two bathroom fixtures that Steven was supposed to paint. Stevens' response, "Now that you have that off my plate I can concentrate on painting the rest of the house." I was thinking yes, of course, I am here to give you less work that you have had almost two weeks to complete in an empty house and I paid your for. One absolutely needed to be replaced, that was fine but I was not informed until right before I actually flew up there. The other fixture he just dropped the ball on, pretty much like the rest of the house. Then when he arrived at 2:30pm he was upset that there was another contractor there. He started to yell at me again and I walked away. He stayed that night until about 8:30 or 9 and I went over after he left. My sliding door was unlocked and it looked like someone went crazy with a spray gun. There was over spray everywhere, drip marks, and splotches. His work is beyond TERRIBLE. The quality is non-existent, again more damage for others to fix. He literally made thousands of dollars worth of damages with what little he did. He would have a hard time completing work from his truck too, when he was there the majority of his time was spent leaning against his truck doing nothing. I had to watch that while I cleaned up his mess. The final straw was when the police showed up (I can not get into too much detail unfortunately but when I can I will update.). When he showed up at the house I was instructed to call them back to have him removed and all of his stuff. He was allowed to take all of his equipment, but did leave behind an empty gallon jug of wine. As if it couldn't be any worse, he was drinking on the job too. I did request a full refund while the police were there and of course nothing has been sent to me. He was calling me multiple times a day for his deposit and more money for work he never did. I have not received anything from him back what so ever. He left while the police were there around 11am, Saturday May 14 which was his deadline. Not one item that was left on the 9th contract was completed even though he had access to the house April 28 and his deposit April 29. The damages are in the thousands. He doesn't take credit cards either, so there is another red flag. I will upload photos as soon as I can, I am still fixing the damage he caused. I have hired many contractors from Angi, I have never had a problem. Please go look at my reviews, I have never left a bad one. One of the people I hired from Angi still works for me after 6 years. Also put his name in google and see what comes up. Look at his Angi review dates most are from years ago. I wish I had spent the 30 seconds doing that, it would have saved a world of stress, damage, and work for other people.
