I don't remember the timing but I next received a call from Bekins corporate office, giving me the name and phone number of my move coordinator.
For the actual move, I had to provide the first available move in date. I received a call on that first date that a the truck was on its way. About 8-9 days later the truck driver called inquiring about the possibility of driving the tractor trailer to our doorstep. Having no idea, I called the local Dept of Public Works and they assured me that the road could accommodate it. Since I had difficulty hearing the driver on his cell, I relayed this message to him via the corporate contact. The next day the Bekins truck was in front of my house. The driver (wish I could remember his name) was exceptional. I wanted all of the boxes placed in the garage. He had his crew line the boxes in rows with the inventory tags facing out. This was for their benefit if something was missing as well as ours for unpacking. The additional 2 man crew worked non-stop and we were unloaded within 3 hours. The only thing we did have to ask before they left was for them to assemble the bed frames. They did so after asking if the local movers had disassembled them, which we confirmed. When it was time to give final payment, the cost was actually lower than the original quote. As we unpacked, nothing was missing or broken. All in all a very satisfied customer. (BTW, no problem with insurance as other poster stated. Make sure you read your contract and indicate your preference in the correct place.
