Inspect It Neil

Neil has three qualities you want your home inspector to possess: he's very knowledgeable, very thorough, and very helpful. He spent lots of time answering my questions before, during, and after the home inspection. His report was very detailed and provided lots of useful information and tips about home maintenance. He gave me tips and advice about how to deal with the home builder. In addition to all that, he is very responsive and communicates very well. I strongly recommend Neil to anyone who needs home inspection services.

He spent extra time teaching me about things I needed to know about the house and was patient in answering all my questions. Neil is one of the highest qualified and most knowledgeable ASHI certified inspectors in NJ and you definitely get what you pay for. I had him inspect a very large home, including a pool. Neil also has relationships with a very good termite/pest inspector and septic inspector. Termite is included in his regular package, Radon is a small add on and I paid extra to have him inspect a pool (available in season only). He is incredibly thorough and patiently walks you through every step of the process and answers all of your questions and concerns. Neil is one of the few inspectors with a digital aerial camera to capture high quality roof images you would otherwise not be able to get. His entire inspection report is online through Home Gauge and they give you really good follow-up tools to make a home inspection list to present to the seller's. Neil gives you all the information you need to ensure you know exactly what you are buying on one of the biggest investments in your life. He showed up at the time we scheduled, spent several hours at the house and completed a very thorough inspection. We received a detail report within a few days of the inspection, as promised. In addition to providing items out of spec for the builder to repair he also gave us helpful information and education regarding maintenance and appliances in the home. We were the contingency offer on a house. The first buyers had a home inspection done by another company just a few weeks before we had our inspection done by Neil. We were able to get the previous inspection reports the morning that Neil came and did his. He did not ask about the reports and did not want them when offered. Neil went through the entire house, soup to nuts and provided an incredibly thorough report of what he found or thought was something of concern. The report is clearly laid out, has many pictures including arrows to pinpoint exactly what he is referring to in the report, and it is very well organized. Neil walks you through the house while he is doing the inspection allowing you to ask as many questions as you can think of and was great with his explanations. I watched him walk the entire attic making notes and taking pictures, check many outlets, get down on his hands and knees to examine under or around things. We received Neil's report a few days later and compared the two reports. The first company stated they did not walk the entire attic and made some assumptions about the condition of the attic and the roof from their partial inspection. They also made comments about CGI outlets in the house that were faulty. By pure coincidence Neil showed my wife and I how the CGI outlets works in the room that the first report said were faulty. They were all working properly. The homeowners stated they had not replaced or repaired anything since the first report. Neil does the job the way you expect it to be done. He made himself available to speak to us about the report on multiple occasions and was always easy to talk to and ask questions. After seeing first hand the difference in home inspection reports, my wife and I are very happy to have had Neil do our home inspection. We felt he did a great job. He provided a fair and honest assessment which allowed us to make our decision.
