Clark Hardwood & Refinishing

THE GOOD:
First, Mr. Clark is a nice enough guy. He showed up and walked us through and showed us floor samples.
We picked out some colors and the hardwood floors really came out very well.

THE BAD:

1. His employees repeatedly did not lock the doors / turn off lights on their way out
2. He was not clear on when they would move back the furniture into the house. 
3. When I spoke to him on this, he got very defensive and sarcastic
4. Many smudges on the walls of our house of the stain or finish
     a. to be fair, he offered to paint them but his man used the wrong paint color on our walls
     b. he came back and left half way through the job

OVERALL:
I give a B score. "A" for the job on the floors. But, "C" for customer satisfaction.
I'd recommend you to use him to the floors first and then paint your walls afterwards.
I wouldn't recommend him or use him again due to the issues we had.

Job was executed expertly in my opinion. Calls were returned within 15 minutes of my calling, workers were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. My floors in another part of the house were done twice in the last two years by two different floor companies. I had problems with each company that had come prior to Jim's crew (the reason the floors had to be done twice ).My neighbor was having her floors done and sent Jim over to see my house. After seeing her floors I hired Jim. I feel there was completely no comparison between Clark Flooring and the other floor companies. The crew went above and beyond what I expected. The floors look amazing. Sanding is even, color is even and finish is exactly what I wanted. Felt pads were placed on all furniture before furniture was replaced. Jim checked in daily to check the progress. I feel very confident recommending them.

Jim did a very thorough job of evaluating and making recomendations for the type of wood. His crew members were knowledgeable, considerate and did a thorough clean up after the job was complete.
My first floor had newly installed, under floor, radiant heat and the installers of the floor did an excellent job of understanding what needed to be done to avoid damaging the new heating installation.
They have since returned to repair a short board that showed signs of damage after the initial installation. They, again, went out of their way to match the unusual grain pattern of the wood and completed the repair quickly and efficiently.

Jim gave excellent advice throughout the process and I appreciated that both he and his men gave great care to listen to me and to make sure that I was happy with my decisions (which stain and coat to use). Jim always kept me informed about the progress during the job and they all worked fast and timely. I am extremely happy with the outcome.

Flooring was in good condition but had not been treated (wax, stain) in many years. Jim made the floors shine like new. Quotation was competitive following negotiation, service was friendly and work was completed according to agreed schedule. The company also does commercial office spaces which were shown to me as a reference.
