John was very responsive initially and said he would drop by to look and then send me an estimate. When I responded to ask that he call me before he comes, so that I could ensure that my dog is inside, he then told me my property was too far away from their regular route. Which came off as a lie, because I've seen them working on my street and my town is plainly listed on his website as "areas served". He simply was not interested in doing business with me because I wanted to be home to meet with him to discuss the estimate. My property has lots of issues and is not a simple suburban postage-stamp yard. I would have appreciated honesty rather than a lie. I am mainly writing this review so that I do not read his other reviews and accidentally contact him in the future.

Great, John arrived right on time for the 1st meeting, did the work in the agreed-on timeframe and stayed within the estimate. The yard and tree look great. I will definitely use this company again.

They did a very thorough job and got left the yard clear of leaves in about 2 hours.

Cardinal came on time and did a great job as usual. All of my leaves were moved to the curb for pickup by the town. Cardinal has never failed to do a great job no matter what they have done for me. I will definitely use them again and recommend their services.

Saying that the job was done well just isn't enough! These guys took 3 years of pretty poor yard work by me and my spouse and made it look great in a very short period of time, it was in a word OUTSTANDING.

It went well, three men using blowers and rakes, and getting the leaves out of hard to reach locations. There was also a workman whose directed the others.

Fine. The place looks good. The workers were considerate.  But I have not received a bill yet. I'd like to settle up.

Cardinal Landscaping removed a twenty year old, totally overgrown perennial garden full of weeds and thorns.  They replaced it with an impeccably manicured, beautiful landscape design featuring beautiful shrubs perfect for the area.  They are highly professional, reliable, and reasonably priced.  I would highly recommend their services to anyone seeking to  improve the beauty of their property.

Overall, the job done was decent in terms of work performed.  I gave it a low B because one of the fruit tree he procured had a branch that died.  I originally intended on getting the tree from Home Depot for $39.99 and plant it myself but the tree nursery guy convinced us to get it from there at a premium ($140) because it would bear fruit the same year.  So we asked John to procure it for us.
Turns out the tree is dying because it was damaged (lying on its side during a thunderstorm) at the nursery and it was not apparent until some time later after it was planted.  Remember, my alternative was Home Depot, which had a replacement guarantee and I could have brought it back to get a new one if I had gone that route, but John and the nursery guy convinced me otherwise.  Ultimately, John said to just prune off the dead branches and the tree will grow around it.  He did put the tree in for us and we paid for the labor but the tree should have been inspected for signs of damage (it already appeared windswept upon arrival) before planting it.  So we are not that happy about it.

Absolutely outstanding service. John returns calls and emails promptly. His staff is courteous and hard working. When he mulched my yard it was done meticulously at a very fair price. After replacing a row of hedges the job was completed promptly and looked beautiful. He is a pleasure to do business in every way.

Last year I contacted John to perform a very large cleanup in one corner of the property. Following that I engaged John to do regular lawn maintenance. I then asked John to landscape the area on either side of the front door with boxwoods and mulsch. John added a drip system which made the area maintenance free. I was very satisfied with John’s work and asked him to propose a design for a front walk and a driveway extension using crushed stone. John provided me with photos of alternative stone we could use and kept me informed of his thinking as we move toward a final design. I gave John a rough design and John took it from there and put together an excellent design that met all of my expectations. I was impressed with John’s design and choice of materials and was glad that I trusted his judgement. The most important aspect of working with John that I appreciated was John’s dedication to communicating with me at every step of the design and construction process and his follow through to meet his schedule. I highly recommend John and his crew.

John is fantastic.  He is very friendly and responsive.  John is very knowledgeable and is happy to give advice and share information.  I would highly recommend him.
